Hurry up guys, it won't last long. Then you'll have to wait until next month when it goes on sale for this price again...

I have this. Bought it for this price. Love it. I still find it suspicious that it's going for like 40% off of MSRP less than a year after it was released. Are not enough people paying to upgrade to Dirac so they gotta make it more tempting?

Btw, when I zoom my projector to cinemascope I can no longer see the volume OSD on screen, whether it's on top or bottom. My 2019 Denon had a bigger volume bar for the OSD and I didn't have this problem. I contacted Denon and they responded with boilerplate not helpful advice, so I have have to use the Denon app to change volume when I watch movies. 1st world problems for sure.

I mean, we're not, but I'll never say no to lower prices so that I can afford to buy more s__t.

I apologize for the potential that my comment has to detail the conversation. I am weak and take bait easily.

Wow, great price! Have this receiver, kinda makes me wished I waited but not really haha. I've been enjoying my 5.1.4 Atmos system. Only issue I have with this receiver is switching from one input to another, it loses HDMI handshake it seems. I have to power off the receiver to get the input back on. I should reach out to support about it. Other then that, really nice receiver.

You can use the "Speaker Connection" setting to disconnect the built-in power circuit of each channel individually and use just your favorite channel as the Preamplifier.

Oops, I meant this to refer to the AVR-X2800H. It has the zone2 pre-out but no zone1 pre-out.

Sorry for not being clearer and thanks for responding.

What amplifier can you use to make it 7.2.4? Is it worth to have amplifier rather than a unit that can fully support 7.2.4 without additional hustle?

Of course, the feds & interested parties are saying that we've achieved a soft landing lol.

You don't print billions, drive the cost of goods & housing up 20-40%+, and not have an impact.

This is like saying CPI only ever topped out at 7-8%...according to who? The feds whose best interest it is to keep CPI low 🤣

Luxury goods purchasing has slowed WAY down, expect deals to continue.

Does the hive mind think that AVRs, and this one in specific, are going to be going for lower during Black Friday? I want to pull the trigger, but I also have the ability to wait. Did a dummy checkout and deal is still live, contrary to comments above, FYI.
HODL for April 2024.

Well, I bought it because it can do 7.4.4 I run out the box 7.4.2 and something like this [amazon.com]would do the last two for me.

I don't think that would do it as there is only one connection from the external amp to the processor. It would only do the two speakers in mono (same signal to each). I think you need an amp that would have connections for both left and right speakers (or two of these).

Does Denon still have GUI that looks like it is from the 80s?

I currently have a Yamaha RX-V685 powering the line of Klipsch RP-8000F with matching center, (2) surrounds, and two Atmos on-top speakers. I use this in a smaller room (12x14). I am wondering if there would be any benefit at all to going this route or if it would be absolute overkill. Maybe the 2800?

I have considered having 4 Atmos speakers installed in the ceiling, which I suppose would warrant having the capability for 9.

I am checking the owner's manual, but does anyone know if you can use the pre out channels of the same line as an amped channel at the same time? I want to take my currant Klipsch front tower speakers 6" and replace them with 8" FA and take old tower and use as the other surround Left or Right because we have second sofa so both listing gets both sound at a good volume so that one ear is not so loud so other sofa can hear, I know I could always bridge them as I do that for my two centers channels one points up and second straight, but know its not good for the amps.

I always thought it was weird that the back actually has 11 amp channels even though it only has the 9 amps. I want to know if there is an internal upgrade possible?

The GUI is new.

If you need 9 channels this will work.

If not, what are you looking for that the 685 is not giving you?

This will not sound good at all it will have lobbing where the sound basically cancels each other out, but yes unless you disconnect the amp for that channel in the menu both pre out and internal amplifier will work together. you can just use multi channel stereo if you want to use the internal amps

No, just get efficient speakers. Something with 95dB+ sensitivity.

Gotcha, do you have anything in mind to suggest? I've watched a lot reviews but none said about having speakers less that actual output power, they all sugges to use amplifier 🤔

I'd recommend Klipsch Reference Premier, but not the first gen RP-8000s. The RP-280s and RP-8000 iis are good though.
