I have this. Bought it for this price. Love it. I still find it suspicious that it's going for like 40% off of MSRP less than a year after it was released. Are not enough people paying to upgrade to Dirac so they gotta make it more tempting?
Btw, when I zoom my projector to cinemascope I can no longer see the volume OSD on screen, whether it's on top or bottom. My 2019 Denon had a bigger volume bar for the OSD and I didn't have this problem. I contacted Denon and they responded with boilerplate not helpful advice, so I have have to use the Denon app to change volume when I watch movies. 1st world problems for sure.

I apologize for the potential that my comment has to detail the conversation. I am weak and take bait easily.

If you like your current speakers no reason to switch.
Whether this would power them sufficiently depends on many factors not just sensitivity.
I have this unit
stock is does
Channels
9.4
Object-Based Configuration: 5.4.4
With External Amplifier: 11.4
With External Amplifier: 7.4.4
I am running 9.4 known now as 7.4.2
will be going to 11.4 or known now 7.4.4 with extra amp
I use another for zone 2.
So, for $100 I am able to drive 13 channels. AVRs that have 13 channels built in are $$$.

Listen to whatever you can to get an idea.
IMO most of your budget should go to speakers, after all they have the biggest influence on the sound you hear IMO.

If you're asking if this receiver can.
No need for an external amp it has 9 internal amps and can expand to 11 channels.
Isn't fall about when we'd expect follow up models being announced, or is it not on consistent cadence?
