I disagree…. I am weighing one of these against a PRS Hollowbody II Piezo. Both offer a blending of tones from multiple pickup types. Guitars are tools.. just because you don't see a need doesn't mean someone else won't paint a masterpiece with one.

Well made guitars with unique electronics. They may solve a problem that doesn't exist but that does not justify the insults…

I love mine as a stage guitar. Sounds better than any of my acoustics with piezo plugged in. No quack. Plus there is the electric option should the need arise.

Dumbest new guitar in a long time. This is the price it should've been MSRP'd.

Tried a couple in the store, hoping that they would play like my Am Pro II but with some acoustic chops thrown in. Unfortunately it feels more like a Fender acoustic to play. Let's just say that it's Gibson who are known for both their electrics and acoustics…

Gibson acoustics don't play anything like their electric counterparts either. What's your point? This plays much more like an electric than any acoustic Gibson makes

The point is this: Fender make good electrics. The're just planks of wood, but feel great in the right places. Fender are not known for making good acoustics, and the Acoustasonic neck/action feels more like their acoustics than their electrics. Now if it played like, say, a Taylor 314, that'd be a different matter. I've played a T-5 and an Anderson Crowdster. Those are very nice to play. So it can be done from either end (a manufacturer known for their acoustics, or one known for their electrics). I was hoping that Fender would emulate the latter, but they missed the mark, IMO...

That is how I felt about my Martin solid's piezo.... until I recently picked up a Headrush MX5. I grabbed some Acoustic Guitar Impulse responses and it made a huge difference.

Interesting that that's your experience. I haven't played one of these, but of the reviews I've watched online, basically every one of them says "it's acoustic, but it feels and plays like an electric". I'd agree that my expectation would be that it'd feel more like their electrics, given the neck carve heel cut away (which looks identical to my American deluxe strat from 2013), etc. Also agree on the point about Taylor's. I have a 714ce and what immediately sold me on it was the amazing playability. Even in spite of the horrendous electronics (es2) they put in them.

Tried this one and settled on the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster. Love it! Much more versatile, IMO.

I think these are farkin hideous but Foo Fighters Chris Shiflett loves them. He's posted a lot of videos with the tele version. Sounds nice. I've held them and they just feel weird to me. Like they don't know what they wanna be.
