This is an easy $250, but the ACH deposit needing to be from employer or government kind of sucks. My employer only allows for my entire check to be moved through a direct deposit request and not just a portion
Should highlight that this is only for existing Amex card holders,
Having trouble changing my DD to this account with my employer. "Routing number does not exist in the system."

Anybody have an idea of what the best current bonus offers are for checking and savings? I got the chase offer of $900 for opening checking and savings and then they keep declining to set up accounts for me. If I do this amex one that is only $250 so then no way I'd get close to the $900 when opening it and a savings acct.
I was 2 hours too late tp do the $400 regions one. And I can't believe despite already doing business with chase and then SPECIFICALLY inviting me to do tat $900 deal they then decline it and don'tt ell why and no way to contact them by email about it apparently.
I read somewhere you cannot use the AMEX Checking Accounts for online bill payment. Can someone confirm? If so, then this account is essentially a debit card + cash withdrawal + a little bit of interest? A bit limited (?)
No bill pay. I like that my linked Amex savings earns 5%. that's good enough for me.
Can anyone share that routing number so I can check before I bother opening the account?
My employer provides direct deposit to my Amex checking. Places that don't accept Amex won't accept it as a payment from checking (my utilities won't take it).
I opened this account last month, prior to the promotion start date (September 12). Just had a chat with an agent that told me that I'm not qualified to get the bonus offer, basically penalizing me because I was an early adopter.
This sucks, but just wanted to share to others that might have opened the account prior to 9/12.. or on the other hand, if you're in the same boat and figured out how to get the bonus, please let me know! TIA

which chase offer was $900?? I signed up for one back in june for $600 ($200 for checking, $300 for savings, and another $100 if you open both).
Has anyone tried doing this for their kids? The account would be in their name, so I don't see anything that would prohibit this. Then DD $500 from my employer, have them give the $500 back and they get to keep the $250. I haven't done this before, but since their unearned income is below $1100 looks like no tax implications.
Are you able to DD to other people's account? I remember usually they check account owner's name.
Targeted offer. I got an email with this offer and I have Amex platinum and gold credit cards. My wife has Amex gold credit card and did not get this offer. YMMV.

Credit card bonuses are not taxable. Much better

Not a cd, just a savings account they offered me about maybe 4 months after opening my checking with amex.
