For Android, you should not look at the model but the cpu it provided. Qualcomm CPU suffered from Samsung fabrication which cause overheat and power efficiency issues. The snapdragon 8 gen 2 is the one you want to get which is manufactured by TSMC.

The excuse used to be that they offered flagship quality devices in the mid tier price range, and in order to do so things like wireless charging and ip68 ratings didn't make the cut.
Once their high end devices started costing high end prices (with exception to the deals we're discussing), not sure why that was still on the chopping block.
Even though I personally do not use wireless charging on any device, it would irritate me to no end to have a car capable of doing so, and my phone not able to benefit lol
In terms of performance/power efficiency, 8+ Gen1 (T) ~ 8 Gen2 (T) > 865 (T) > 855 (T) > 845 (T, prototype) ~ 835 (T, prototype) >> 8 Gen1 (S) ~ 888 (S) > 845 (S) > 835(S).
Samsung is about 5 years behind TSMC in reality:
Samsung's 5nm = TSMC's 14nm = Intel's 10nm = SMICS' 14nm
Samsung's 7nm = TSMC's 22nm = Intel's 14nm = SMICS' 16nm
Legacy examples include iPhone 6s (T) is about 2.5 times of standby time than S version, 3 times longer playing mediocre games, although Samsung claimed its chipset was more efficient than TSMC's at that time. Conversion rate: Samsung * 2.5 = TSMC; Samsung * 2.1 = Intel.
Avoid any chipsets fabricated by Samsung at all cost.
One Plus don't have the issue but to you all Chinese phones are Chinese phones.
