Yes, with the 300 credit when you book in via their portal and the 10k miles every anniversary year, you're basically getting paid 5 bucks to keep the card. Worth it if you just travel once a year.
So worth it for 5 dollars, you still restricted to book through the portal

Bear in mind the prices you pay via travel.capitalone.com are typically higher than what you would pay booking direct. It's not much, but can add up.
I've thought about getting this card, as I have a large $$$ purchase scheduled in the next few weeks. But I doubt I will retain the card beyond the first year. I am not a frequent traveler.
any form of travel can get you the $300 credit. a flight, a hotel booking, some sort of tour maybe. It's def. easy to use $300 on any type of travel within a year. You're right.. Global Entry and TSA Pre-check is every 5 years. Luckily 10k miles/points every year you hold the card comes out to $100, so you're still making money off the card.
That ANY form or travel you mention must be booked through Cap1 site to qualify?
Same. I have excellent credit and no debt and i was denied. Seriously disappointed because i'm doing a lot of flying next month and i was looking forward to my first ever lounge access.
Check out Amex Hilton Honors CC. $95/yr with promo pts + Priority lounge access. It might work for you
How long does it take to see the 90K progress in the app? I received the virtual card and used it yesterday, but can't find anything about the points. Thanks.

Question for the experts on TSA/Global Entry benefit. I have Global Entry paid for via work. If I sign up, can I use that benefit for the wife or does it have to be for myself only?
Cap1 can be really unpredictable with approvals. My wife and I have excellent credit, low debt, few pulls, and good incomes. I was approved for the Cap1 Venture (75k pts after $4k spend/3 months), but she was instantly denied. Only with my referral code was she able to get approved. BTW Cap1 hard pulls all three agencies.

you can use it for anyone since they have no way to check who you used it for, they only see the charge on your credit card and reimburse that transaction

Thank you sir for the quick and to the point response.

Will Global Entry after the first application be eligible for the $300 travel Reimbursement? I got the for myself and 3 secondary cards for family members. Applied Monday night and arrived today (Thursday morning) by FedEx.
