This is a small travel router that connects to an ethernet port of an existing network, OR can be connected to an existing Wi-Fi network and used to create your own personal Wi-Fi network but this router uses a VPN to mask your traffic when used.
It can also be used on Visible to share a phone connection with multiple devices but you will be required to use a TTL hack to make it work.
1. Connect phone/laptop to captive login wifi.
2. Connect GL.iNet to power
3. Log in to GL.iNet web interace
4. Change GL.iNet router MAC address to the same as that of your phone/laptop.
5. Connect GL.Inet to hotel WiFi, and it'll work.
Side note, I have this and it works great, the VPN works well too.

For some questions asked earlier about captive login pages - essentially way these work is that you connect to Hotel Wifi thru these and all your devices on your Wifi created by this. First device to access net will get captive login page and once you authenticate - it will connect all devices on its network. This way you dont need to clone ur MAC - essentially hotel will note down this device MAC and will think this is the only device accessing their network for all your devices that connect via this device.

While the device power on, even not in use after an hour , the fan starts spinning to make noise
I'm leaning toward the possibility that due to your lack of understanding, you did something to cause this or, at the very least, did nothing to try to correct it.
Again, this router isn't meant for the average consumer.
You have to tweak it to work as desired, so it's not impossible to imagine opening it up and making sure the heatsink is seated properly or figuring out why the processor is ramping up when it should supposedly be idle (according to you).
You've already demonstrated that this product isn't meant for you, so what are you doing here besides crapping all over it?

It uses USB-C and works with any 15W power supply.

It's super helpful when I'm traveling with the family and we're staying at a hotel or something. I re-broadcast our home wifi SSID while we're traveling. Collectively, we have about 16 devices connected to wifi while traveling so it's very nice to setup the connection 1 time, and have all of the devices connected automatically to the wifi after.

Maybe someone will enlight me, but I never really understood why buying something more powerful than the mini travel routers mentioned above (or equivalent) to get unlimited hotspot with visible or other carriers. They can handle 4 or 5G speed all right. The one with detachable antenna(e) can be retrofitted with larger antenna(e). I have used successfully a yagi 15dBi and a 19dBi flat panel I used to use whilst war driving a LONG time ago.

While this router had a nice range of very useful functions, the broadcast range was lackluster. It worked fine in a hotel room, but completely inadequate in a multi-room rental. Based on the top review, it looks like there are also some inherent WiFi latency problems when you connect this router to the WiFi as the source of your internet connection.
Therefore, please read reviews and understand the uses for this device, because it may not work for your situation.
