R635 - 2020
R646 - 2021

Which begs the question why is this almost 700 dollars?

This shouldnt even be sold new in stores anymore.

This set is from 2020. I've had the 55" version for 3 years now and it's been great. That said, lacking HDMI 2.1 is a bit frustrating as a gamer given the necessity of you want to do any of the 40Hz modes.

I would recommend providing more info. Is it a TCL 4 series or 6 series? The model number beginning with 6 is their best version. I have both and the 4 series is very lackluster.

This model is a 6 series, and image quality hangs with the sony's and Samsung in a price range way outside of $650.

TCL is also known to have the issue of "winning the panel lottery" which means your TV may come with a dead pixel or two, but if it arrives clean you are considered lucky to have a quality 6 series for $650 that performs as good as $1000+ competitor units or better.

TCL is very specific. 4 series is a pass, 6 series is worth the gamble if it works. I won the panel lottery and am extremely satisfied for $650

Mine is a 5 series. 4 series is absolutely trash.

As a current TCL owner, I would never buy another TCL, or any other Chinese or Taiwanese brands like HiSense, or Vizio ever again.

You keep your sanity with Samsung or LG and lasts longer too.
As current TCL qm8 owners.
I will buy another TCL.

I had horrible luck with LG.

These type of messages are always based on luck.

TCL 4 series and 5 series are not the greatest.

4 is ultra budget and 5 is budget... 5 series is still better then bottom of barrel LG or Samsung.

Anyone buying one should get an extended warranty. Three years in salt water on a boat I'm staying away.

Sad to report my week old unit will need to be returned. A large dark spot appeared today. Tried to work TCL but my TV doesn't have a serial number sticker. I'd recommend keeping your box a bit wish I had. Normally do so for a month or two but not this time and now I'm paying for it

What operating system? From my experiences TCL Roku are far better than the TCL Google.

I just bought and returned this TV. There were small, uniformly spaced gray spots along the bottom quarter of the screen, which is apparently a common defect/shipping damage on TCL.

But even if it didn't have those spots, the UI was really laggy/buggy and I would have returned it for that reason. Keep in mind this is a 2020 model, so its processing power might already be dated.

Specifically, severe sound sync issues after pausing in the Disney + app. Slow response when switching between apps and navigating the menus.

Maybe mine was an anomaly, but I decided to return it and get the Hisense U75K, rather than exchange for the same TCL.

Going from TCL to HiSense is like selling your 2023 Kia and buying a 2010 Kia.

Honestly, for the best experience, just buy any good TV and buy a standalone Roku. Eventually the Roku OS will start to get slower, and you can buy a new Roku device. I never recommend buying a TV for the OS.
The one thing that makes me like the built-in Roku TV OS better than a separate device: the ability to put Amazon music on, set a sleep timer, and turn the display off without turning the audio off, all on the one device. A separate Roku device wouldn't necessarily let you play audio without the display, or set a TV sleep timer (granted, most TV's have a sleep timer).

My Samsung TV doesn't allow you to turn the display off without just turning the entire TV off (I think this either used to be a feature, or is on newer Samsungs, or both, but my NU8000 doesn't have that capability).

Supply chain issues from the pandemic / post pandemic containers chaos at ports. There must have been some 'found' inventory here or something. Only real reason why these TV's would be selling this many years later

Great TV. I picked this up last week for 699.99. Does Costco price adjust? Assume no
If you used the Costco credit card yes if not you have to go into store rebuy same item and then return it right away...🙄

No it is not. It is a 2023 model. 120hz. HDMI 2.1.
The Costco site says it is HDMI 2.0
