I have enjoyed my Costco membership over all, but I really dislike sales fliers that show amount of money off of a product without a clear price for the product listed. Very manipulative.
That's because all their stores have different pricing.

Yes you do. How long has it been since you went to the foodcourt?
Last Saturday.

Where do you live? CA? That explains it.

RUMOR is that in some places, they check for membership. That's due to unsavory people. You know, basically Costco probably doesn't care if the random person gets a cheap hot dog but when droves go in that are not members, or worse those people start harassing members or making it unsanitary, then they have to do something.

That said I've never been in a Costco that required showing membership to buy from the food court, and I've been to Costco in Mexico.
The costco by me requires showing membership just to get in the door.

The store near me seems to have eliminated the membership checker job - haven't seen anyone near the entrance for few months now.

Even otherwise, customer service is near the exit door. It is common for people to enter from exit door for returns and such. No membership check there. And voila - you are in the food court arena.

Another trick - if you have ever been a member and have the card with you, you can show it to enter. They don't check the expiry.

I was talking about food courts specifically. Places around here always have someone at the front, and recently they have been checking @ SCO because losers "share" cards with their friends. I've never been in a store that required showing a member card to buy from the food court. If you go in the normal way they will want to see a card, but if you go in through CS, the food court is right there and I am never carded. I mostly know this because when I go with my kids they always have to hit up the bathroom first, so we beeline it to the restrooms which are typically past CS, tire and food court.

Just got tires a couple months ago. Was set on Costco then did a lot of research. I still went with Costco but a couple things I found:

Very limited selection but there should be something you are happy with unless very picky.
Very competitive price when on sale.
The tire centers are often very busy so you'll need to be flexible if you want to use the free rotations or have a tire patched. Often they take a long time so hopefully you'll be shopping inside for a couple hours.

Universally, people said that if you have a Discount Tire nearby, just go there instead. For price. For service. For protection plans. (They have something called Certificates and a higher level protection plan. I don't have one near me so I didn't read too much about those options but I would suggest reading before going there.)
I'm very dubious that Discount Tire saves anybody money. I've not checked every price on every tire, but their installation cost is higher than Costco and their everyday prices (and sale prices) are higher than Costco typically.

Go to Same Day Costco. Enter your address. Find the product. Take about 88% of the price. That's about the price in the store. Make sure if the price is before or after the sale price discount.

Divide the sameday.costco.com (Same Day tab in app) price by 1.17. Instacart adds a 17% markup, max of $13. E.g. Same Day list $23.39, divide that by 1.17 gets you $19.99. Note that prices vary by location - it will generally show pricing at the warehouse closest to the address you entered.

Is this a cheap way to get a TV delivered? j/k
