I have a phone that turns on and works, but it has a bulged screen from a swollen battery. I have another one that has a cracked screen and will turn on, but is useless as the screen is completely non-functional.

What do you mean I still owe the remainder of the balance of the bill credits?? The bill credits just end if I decide to pay off the new phone early???
Lets say, you decide to switch and pay off your phone after the first year.
For your bill, VZW will "charge you" $23.06 and credit you $23.06. That is your bill credit. After the first year, you would still owe $553.28. If you want to pay off you have to pay that amount as you no longer would get the monthly $23.06 credit.
So. If you are the vast majority of people who trade in their prior phones which are worth a LOT more than $50, they lose money.
Does that math make sense?

Yes, you need to do the math of what your phone is worth (check swappa.com for current selling prices), how often you want to upgrade, and how much the bill credits are for. This isn't straightforward for everyone.
This is 100% the best deal out there for someone like me where I could only get about $500 for my 12 pro max whereas i'm getting $830 in bill credits over 3 years. I usually upgrade my phone every 3 years or so (don't always need the latest & greatest) and don't plan to jump carriers all the time. Will never go to AT&T, T-mobile is the only one i'd consider at this point, Verizon has been solid and whoever said "prepaid" can go check their layaway balance at rent-a-center, no thanks.

Ultimate 3 lines 150, plus 3 lines 120, what's the tax /fee rate on top of it? 25% or more?

maybe for some, this is a downside
Took me all of 30-45 minutes to:
1. Pay off the last month on two devices
2. Order and give payment for the two new iPhones
Order on the phone with Verizon and keep your plan, it's the best way to upgrade this cycle for Verizon period.

Did you actually get the fee waived, or just assuming based on the wording?
