24 vs. 36 mos is just a way to reduce the monthly payment. 1 year more, no big deal. I've been with Verizon for 10+ years. I don't switch providers often, not worth it to me. If you do, then yeah, that's on you to figure out how you purchase a $1k device. The 36 mos bill credits to get a $1k+ device for $11/mo 0% interest fits my needs.
That's what a contract is. A defined set of terms of an agreement and rules based on when each party takes certain actions. If the current deals weren't a "contract" then why would verizon pay a single month of the promotional credit.

I tried to do online trade in from verizon website. it says $1000 trade in value promotion when i entered trade in info. but at last step, it says only $415 trade in value. why?

i plan on doing a trade in /upgrade at Costco. does anyone know if i have to give them my old phone immediately on the spot? or will i get to bring home the new device, and then get a chance to transfer things over myself at home, and then send, or mail, or drop off the old phone in a day.

also, anyone know if rep in stores will confirm how much trade in value will be? i have an iphone 6, 7, and SE

Today I was adding new line at Costco. Rep told 1000$ trade in credit offer but throughout the process he didn't ask my trade in device details. At last he told you can trade in at the store. In the order details I don't see any trade in offer details. Now I am worried if I can do trade in at store or not.

If you do it in-store, do you need to do the trade-in right then and there, or can you mail it in later? I have an old phone from my sister that she says I can use but it's activation locked and gonna take a while for me to help her get into her account and unlock it.

I don't believe what they spout unless they can provide me with a printout from their system that states exactly what they're saying.
I'm still on a family plan with the older 5G Start and 5G Play More plans which came out before these Unlimited Welcome/Plus/Ultimate plans, and I can still get the $830 off but have to trade in an iPhone XS or newer, older phones like the SE get $410. Looks like if you're on Ultimate you're getting the free phones regardless of what you trade in, so you should trade in something super old.

Yea, happened to me at Costco today. The rep can not apply the trade in credit to other 3 lines, only one trade in credit per family plan account. He said I can still sign today and get Costco gift card, then do the trade in my self at the Verizon store. I did not believe him and left without signing the contract.

I just added one line only but still he didn't do trade in process. I will go and check with him again. Otherwise I have to cancel the order

Does the store employee check out the phone condition and assign you the credit/value right there, or are they merely shipping it off for you and you're still waiting for the valuation to be done?
