Never did an upgrade at Costco before. What if they don't have the phone in stock. Do they ship it to you or do they just tell you when to come pick it up when they get it in stock?

Vz plans are more expensive..I'm paying 80/mo for 3 lines unlimited..switching to plus plan will cost me an extra 40/mo plus tax

Never ever ever ever again.
There was one OS that was notoriously bad for this, don't recall which one. Then a .1 or .2 update was sent out and fixed it.

I've owned every iPhone from the original to now the latest and have always been the first to update my phone when a new OS comes out. Besides that one I mentioned above, every other one has been nearly bug free, or at least was quickly fixed with a dot update.

Also, if you don't already, after you do any major OS upgrade, make sure to fully powered down your device, wait 5 minutes, then power it back up. This helps to get rid of any existing bugs or new ones that pop up due to the transition.

Are you sure you traded in an "iPhone 4"? iPhone 7 or 6 are not even in the list. They check the IMEI and will report different trade-in value based on the model.

Sure. The final trade in value has been confirmed by their store and email. Remember it's for a new line. If you upgrade your existing line, you need a newer model like iPhone X or 11.

I'm on the same boat as you. I can see a $1000 trade in credit for my 12 mini for the same plan and an upgrade. I think it is better than Costo as they only give $830 for upgrades unlike Verizon giving $1000.

I don't think it's about if you can afford the phone or not. People are discussing why pay the full price if they'll will stay with Verizon anyways for 3+ years and Verizon is giving the phone for free for staying 3 years. Why not take advantage of that?

I went into Costco and tried to trade in iPhone X to upgrade one of my current lines, no go. The Verizon rep tried each and everyway to help. He said if you have iPhone XS or higher they will accept for $830 trade otherwise you get $415 or around that value. If you add new number you can get $1000 off your old phone like X or even below. Same as current Verizon 15 Pro deal for adding a line. You do get $250 back from Costco so that is worth it if you don't mind having expensive plan. I don't need another line.
