Rep at my Costco said, I would get $1000 for any unlimited plan. I booked a new line with iphone 11 trade-in and wondering how far is this true? Is there a way to determine credit eligibility on the order?

I believe I am on the plan ahead of you for $40 or $50

Every line including my father's 5G Start plan offered him $830 for the trade in
Thanks for the info. I just called and the deal you got was not available to me. I had to upgrade to the $52 (before $10 autopay discount) per month Unlimited Plus plan to get the $830 trade-in value. Since it's $12 more per month this reduces the deal value by $432 for me. Still pretty good, but not as good as I'd hoped and probably worth it to go to Costco for me since the costco deal adds a $100/line for upgrades.

Also I talked with the rep about what would happen if the new phone gets lost/stolen/damaged and if that happens you instantly pay off the balance and lose all future statement credits. So you REALLY do not want to lose or break your phone early in the 36 month period.

I believe there used to be a way to keep paying the monthly fee on a phone even if it was broken/stolen to keep the monthly credits, but that is no longer an option. Verizon seems to have killed to encourage uptake of their insurance plan.

That's wrong. You can try online to get the trade-in value for different plan: $1000 is for Unlimited Ultimate, $830 for Unlimited Plus. What they can offer should be the same as you can find online at Verizon.com except that $250 cash card offered by Costco. Trust what you see on Verizon.com or something printed instead of what they said.

Alright Fellows, I talked to the Costco Verizon sales rep yesterday and ran many hypothetical scenarios since i have 7 lines* coming from T-Mobile:

- The $250 Costco cash card is PER LINE. from the terms it seems it'll get issued after 90 days of service, unlike the 3 year bill credits. You will only get this if you GET A NEW PHONE from Verizon. Not BYOD (Bring your own device).

- There are 3 tier Verizon plans:

Lower tier: Unlimited Welcome: ($27 + ~$5.5 fees = $32.5/month).

This one only qualifies for:

BYOD: $180 / 36 months (NO $250 costco card)
$415 off trade in on iphone 15, or a FREE iphone 14 phone. ($730 bill credit over 36 months)
YES you should be getting new phone with Verizon since you'll be getting $250 + $730

Mid tier: Unlimited Plus: ($42 + ~$7.5 fees = $49.5/month).

BYOD = $540 / 36 months (NO COSTCO $250 card)
$830 off any iphone 15 series, 36 months bill credit
FREE iphone 14 or 14 Plus, 36 months bill credit

Highest Tier: Unlimited Ultimate ($52 a month, + ~$8.5 fee, = $60.5 / month)
BYOD = $540 / 36 months (NO COSTCO $250 card)
$1000 off any iphone 15 series, 36 months bill credit
FREE iphone 14 or 14 Plus, 36 months bill credit

The breakeven point between Unlimited Ultimate and Unlimited Plus is around 18 months in ($170).

Verizon will take any iphone 3 or above phones, as long as it turns on. Even with a cracked screen. They just want to verify the IMEI is not stolen or compromised. The rep has a list of phones but he said he can't share or he'll get fired. But the list clearly states iphone 3 or above. I didn't check the Samsung / Google list because i'm unfamiliar with their phones, but it should be pretty similar.
Had to sift through 45 pages of compaints about 36 month credit disbursements (this is how all carriers handle upgrade/new phone promos) and how expensive Verizon Unlimited plans are (AT&T isn't any cheaper.. yes there are cheaper carriers that won't have the 5G hotspot or non-throttled 5G speeds)... but this breakdown is exactly how I understood the promo at Costco.

The plans/phone trade-in promo really isn't different than Verizon Authorized Stores/online, but it seems like Costco Verizon kiosks will NOT handle the trade-in like a Verizon brick and mortar will. Ultimately, customer will need to decide if the $250/$100 costco gift card is worth either assuming the Costco rep knows what they are doing with the trade-in OR if you are ok doing the trade-in yourself (either at VZ store or mailing in) after signing up at Costco.

Hopefully this information helps especially with the last several posts asking about what phones qualify for what amount.

First and foremost any trade in promotion provided by Verizon is handled by Verizon themselves. Authorized retailers (indirect sales channels) such as Costco, Best Buy, Samsung, Apple, Target, Walmart, Verizon Authorized Retailers, etc. do not take the trade in themselves. Some of them may submit your trade in to Verizon as part of the ordering process but they are not directly evaluating your device or providing you the actual trade-in value. That assessment is all done and provided by Verizon's system. What you need to know is that you can do this yourself. The trade in does not need to be performed at the same time as the new device transaction. Verizon gives you a 30 day grace period because they know you may be trading in your currently used phone and they want to allow you to perform transfers etc.

With the new top tier Unlimited Ultimate plan Verizon has now created 3 tiers (prior it was 2) of promotional trade in values tied to service plan - Ultimate/Plus/Welcome. In regards to how the old plans map to the 3 tiers its generally One Unlimited/(Get,Do,Play)/(Start,Welcome). Older plans like Above/Beyond/Go, The Verizon Plan, Verizon Unlimited, etc. will vary depending on the promotion itself.

Costco's cellular partner on top of Verizon's promotion is offering $250/$100 GCs for new/upraded lines.

Verizon has several promotions going. The one that's topic in this thread is ANY iPhone in any condition for $1000 for starting/adding a new line on Unlimited Ultimate. The promo trade-in values reduce to $830 for Unlimited Plus and $415 for Unlimited Welcome.

What others are reporting is a different promotion where new lines are receiving the same values of $1000/$830/$415 accross 3 tiers with a list of eligible phones that include other manufacturers (again different from the ANY iphone promo). Upgrades are included at 2 tiers $830/$200 where tier 1 and 2 were combined. Unlike the ANY iphone promo upgrades on legacy plans are included. For example Get/Do/Play qualifies for the $830 if your device trade in is an iPhone SE 2022 or iPhone XS and above.

Best Buy is a good source to use as a reference. It includes the list of eligible phones at each tier and with new/upgrade lines.

This is another great post that highlights Verizon's trade-in process. You really don't need to process the trade-in through Costco (some reps sound like they are not qualifying devices or trade-in amounts correctly, don't know how to do it for multiple lines, and bottom line may screw up the trade-in offer), as you may not be in a situation to trade-in your current working device until later on once you receive the new iPhone 15 to port your service over to. Thus, you can technically use verizon's trade in site (https://www.verizon.com/trade-in/) to begin your trade-in within 30 days of activating your new line of service?

I am leaning towards going through with Costco to sign up for new service with Verizon. I'll sign up two new lines of Unlimited Ultimate and order two iPhone 15 Pros (they don't have them in stock), but forego doing any trade-ins at Costco. Once I receive the new phones and activate them, I will then go onto Verizon's trade-in site to trade in a iPhone X and iPhone 6S (both have no visible battery damage or major cracks, but both DO NOT turn on - IMEI are clean when you look them up and both removed from our iCloud accounts), which should give us the full $1000 credit per line (for new Unlimited Ultimate lines) and choose to drop-off at Verizon brick and mortar (so no issues with UPS/USPS). DOES THIS JIVE WITH ANYONE WHO HAS SUCCESSFULLY USED THIS DEAL OR UNDERSTANDS THIS ENTIRE PROCESS??

My easiest path forward to ensure trade-in credit is a Verizon B&M, they have iphone 15 Pros in stock and will do the trade-in directly there (losing out on the $500 costco GC).

We did this deal at Best buy as we had a total tech membership which gets us free apple care on all the phones, needless to say many store reps are not aware of the process to follow the deal, I think this time the trade-in process is very different than how it was done previously... so in a nutshell, we ported 4 lines from TMobile to Verizon, one line at a time in Best buy, and no trade-in was selected at Best buy. We just opened a new Verizon account and did first line and then once it was activated, added one line at a time. The whole process took over an hour. We came home with 4 iPhone 15 pros. Then went on to Verizon account for each line and added trade-in which clearly showed $1000 credit for our broken iPhones (6s, couple of XRs and an 8plus). We selected to drop the trade-ins at Verizon store and be done with the process. Hope this helps. I am assuming Costco also had to do the same. May be not everyone is aware. We got lucky with a rep at Best buy who knew how this is done.
Another good post highlighting how the trade-in process can really be done after the fact from your Verizon account.. Best Buy scenario, but Costco shouldn't be much different (despite all the issues posted in this thread).

Hi @CliffordC7580 did you end up having the Costco rep handle the trade-in (meaning they had to enter anything about the trade-in into their system) or are you planning on doing the trade-in yourself afterwards online?

I got offered a dollar for my galaxy S7.

One Dollar. For a noncracked screen, and fully working. That is absurd. The thing is in premium condition.

galaxy s8 shows up as up to $1000 trade in on a new line, but don't see the S7 in the list online

Went through the process myself and here's how it worked out for me:
Was out of contract on ATT, paying about 180/month for four lines.
Traded in fold 3, S20 Note x2, Pixel 4a 5G, got 1010 $ each credit towards fold 5, S23 Ultra, Iphone 14 pro max x2

The iPhone came out to 2.50/month, S23 @ 5$/mo and Fold5 @ 20$/mo

Hopefully this helps someone

I went into a Verizon store today to inquire about this promo and to see how it might bundle with our VZW 5g home internet. I am not sure how some people seem to be getting such low per line rates. If I add 2 lines with new phones under this promo on the Unlimited Plus tier each line is $70-80/month for 3 years. It seems like people are somehow getting the BYOD level pricing AND new phones. I am not sure how that's possible.

I know adding 4 lines results in lower pricing but I'm not seeing that low even with 4 new lines and new devices.

No one is getting BYOD pricing + Trade in credits on new iPhone 15s.
