I remember in the past deals I did at Costco, it was Tmobile transactions. The reps would input the imei info for me.
With Verizon, I noticed it's different. I went to Best Buy to buy my 15 pro max phones. I had to do the trade ins myself. I went to a corp verizon store and the rep did it there.
Use sickw dot com to check the status. They should be good but for some reason you are getting errors.
My understanding based on what Costco Verizon rep said is that the IMEI information is part of the sign up process but the trade in happens via mail later. You get maybe trade in kit via mail and then you mail back the phones but the IMEI of the phones need to match what was put in at sign up time. In my cases since the IMEI info is throwing error the rep is not able to select the trade in option (which is the only way to get free phones).
I want to understand from someone who signed up via Costco and if they had any issue with IMEI during sign up process (did they even have to provide IMEI of all trade in phones?).
Reason to go via Costco vs Best Buy or even Verizon online is the $250 Costco shop card per line.

I took the devices to my local corp store and the rep inspected the phones and processed everything through his tablet.
I even helped upgrade a family member to the 15 pm and same thing, purchased at Best Buy, and went to the store to do the trade in
Hopefully someone else who did it at Best Buy can chime in

1. Do the trade-in iphones have to be for Verizon (mine were used with ATT and T-Mobile. The Verizon promo says any iphone)
2. When signing up are you providing the IMEI numbers for trade-in phones and are they being checked? Any one else had issues with the IMEI check?
3. Have there been situations where IMEI number was not provided at sign up and the trade-ins (with clean non blacklisted phones) went through fine regardless of the IMEI check at the kiosk? Wondering if I should take a risk since I know the phones are clean.
Thanks for any data points.
Here my experience from end to end
I added a new line in 10/12 and traded in an old att iPhone 5. The rep entered the IMEI in the system and it provided the trade in credit immediately
I paid for the tax on the spot but not the $35 activation fee
I got an email receipt stating the phone, trade in credit and the 250 Costco card reference
The initial email provides details instructions on how to do the trade in. The part it missed was the mailing back label. It assumed the label would be in the same box as the new phone and you would just reuse the same box to mail it back
The phone came in 2 days but it didn't come with any trade in package or prepaid mailing label. I didn't know what to do at this point
In about 10 days you would get a reminder email to mail in your trade in. The email has a link to your specific status page. From that page you can print out a label or change it to a qr code and drop it off at an ups store. I chose the qr code
2 days after the drop off I got another status update email said it's with the carrier. That's all I needed at this point
I did the numbers porting almost immediately and got the 200 Vz gift card exactly 4 weeks later
The next bill came on 10/16 and it already has the trade in credit. This would usually take 3 billing cycles in the past so this was a great update. It also did not include an activation charge
The next bill came on 11/17 and it had the 35 active charge. I used the 200 Vz card to pay the bill.
Still waiting for my Costco credit, I think the rep said I have to wait 90 days for that
We have had 2 iPhones with Verizon for >10 years. We need to add a third new line for our kid. We both have iPhone 13's and currently pay $200 per month for an outdated unlimited plan called '5G Start 1.0'. (The plan is an about $65 per phone. On top of that, we pay a monthly fee to pay off our two iPhone 13s. We also added some type of insurance for $20.)
1. It sounds like we are not candidates for this '4 on us' promo because we only need 3 lines, AND we have 2 existing lines with Verizon already. Correct?
2. Anyone know of any smart ways for us to get third line and iPhone, and perhaps cut back our monthly payment?

Also not sure how to use the VZ gift card to pay my monthly VZ bill. I have $800 in gift credit but not sure how to apply it.
