Please don't promote that data hoarding shady dealer on here. There is no reason to buy there.

Shady? 90 percent of the Chinese stuff you're buying that's posted here comes from the same factories. You're just paying triple the price.

I'm not a shill, but I have bought stuff from there. If I can get a similar stainless steel tumbler for half the price, why would I buy it somewhere else?

Do you think there's much difference between one from Temu or the Chinese tumbler from Michaels?

The point is that I'm buying from reputable companies that offer guarantees and return services. They offer a bit more transparency and don't make you jump through endless hoops to return or a replace. They also are a bit more scrutinized over their data collection and how they use my information.

This is a point of contention for sure, but it's been well documented over the nefarious nature of that brand's misuse and abuse of consumer data.

A "deal" isn't just the product you receive, but the entire experience as a consumer.

Can I just go to the store and buy these, rather than ordering for pickup?

You should show some care no matter where you buy. Even Amazon and Walmart have a lot of bad products that comes through. But a lot of the products are fine on sites like Temu. I don't shop there a lot, but when I have, I've gotten good value from it. Usually they're low cost items anyway. If I ordered a tumbler for $1-2, I'm sure I'll know right away if it's what it's supposed to be. As far as data collection, lots of sites do that. Actually, that was the original purpose of the Internet/World Wide Web. Our government wanted to control information, and that's exactly what they're still doing. I'm sure Chinese is doing it as well.

Not much. It's a tumbler. It's made of steel, you pour liquid in it, and it keeps it hot or cold.

Oh no, not my data! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

For real though, just order through Temu on a PC and skip the app. Payment goes through paypal. Done. I've gotten some junk, but a lot of halfway decent stuff. They pretty much give you an instant refund if anything is shitty too.

I thought the original governmental purpose (Arpanet) was a survivable communication system is case of attack. Anyway, the government does not control it, Google does.

As for Temu, I have bought some stuff there. Have been purchasing a bunch of the hobo coins because I like them. Hard to screw them up too. But I will not download the app, just like TikTok, and pay using Paypal or Applepay. I did try some chargers from there and they were definitely not as advertised. No issue when I complained though. They issued a credit immediately, no return needed.

Google has been a big part of it. They also weren't originally "Google." They were originally "Backrub", then eventually converted over to "Google"

The shills are all creeping up from the floorboards. Facepalm

Yes, their name was different. The CEO(s) were also different at one point. So what ?? Confused
(Entirely rhetorical here, don't feel compelled to answer because I've reached the quota for BS today)

The mental gymnastics happening in this thread are astounding.
If a 5-minute visit to Temu isn't enough to deter you from shopping there, perhaps a re-evaluation of your other choices is in order.

The entire Temu operation end-to-end is nefarious and suspicious. There's no need to sugarcoat it.
