Yesterday I made the decision to switch from Verizon to AT&T for my family plan with 4 lines. Part of the process was making some account changes with the MyVerizon app so the process of porting our numbers goes smooth.

When I set up our Verizon account for porting out to AT&T, I magically received a text message the very next day:

"Hi, it's Verizon. Great news! As a way of saying thanks, we are applying a $10/mo discount to every active phone line on your account for the next 12 months. There is no action needed and you'll see it in the next 1-2 bill cycles. If you have questions please contact *611 to speak with a rep. Thank you for being a loyal customer!"

YMMV if it will work for you, but here are the steps to make Verizon think you are ready to leave them.

1. Open your My Verizon app.
2. Click on the Account icon at the bottom of the app.
3. Towards the top, it says "Hi (Your Name)" Click on the "Edit Profile and Settings" link underneath that.
4. On the Account Settings screen, scroll down to the Security section and click Number Lock.
5. On the Number Lock screen, turn off the Number Lock for each line. This enables other carriers to port out your line.
6. Go back to the Account Settings screen and click on Number Transfer Pin.
7. Generate a Number Transfer Pin. Since I already did it, I can't do it again right now in order to give you step-by-step directions. It was easy. You can figure it out.

And that's it. Wait a day or two and see if Verizon decides you are also a loyal customer worth giving a $10.00 per line loyalty discount for 12 months. YMMV.

Note: After a few days, go back into the app and turn Number Lock back on, so nefarious characters can't try to port out your phone number without your consent.

Have bill credits/device payments on 3 of my 4 lines. My numbers were already unlocked so all I did was request a port out code and a few hours later got the email and text.
I think there are a lot of hidden loyalty discounts. When Xfinity raises my home internet rate I call them and tell them I'm switching to Verizon home internet. Suddenly their loyalty program has a lower priced plan at a faster speed.

hasn't happened for me yet and I set this up around noon, guessing it likely won't happen, but we'll see.

Who else can't get this to work? I have 5 lines, tried over 24 hours ago, and re-did it again a few hours ago with nothing from Verizon.

Same, 5 lines, 1 upgraded last month, one has a pre-ordered iPhone 15 that's delivering in 2 days. Wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Just worked for me on 5 lines. They were already unlocked. So I locked them, waited a day, then unlocked and requested the number transfer pin. 5 or so hours later got the email. Thanks OP!

Given the high success rate of this, what are the chances they might not honor it ?

I have an ancient unlimited plan for 2 lines, my numbers were already unlocked, so I locked them and re-unlocked them and requested a transfer pin. Let's see if it worked. My guess would be creating the transfer pin triggers the discount, but we'll see.

Update: got the message that I got the discount! Woohoo!!!

Turned off Number Lock and requested a transfer PIN at 11:45 AM Pacific this morning. Received the $10 per line discount email at 5:01 PM.

I have been a Verizon customer for just over 1 year. Currently have three phone lines and a military discount.

Props to the OP. This is the hottest deal I've ever picked up considering it didn't involve me buying something I probably didn't need. A true savings of $600 for me with 5 lines.

My lines weren't locked, so I locked them, unlocked them, then created the pin.

I started the process at 10:15am pst and received the email at 4:01pm.
