7k points are about $70~100 in value. Chase travel is usually so much more expensive than other portals (expedia, airline website etc). The $70 in point is probably not worth booking through chase travel, especially if you have to book a flight AND hotel.
Lmao $5, really Chase
Chase Sapphire Preferred gets a $50 hotel credit every year Smilie

Does the travel need to be completed by 1/31/24 or just booked by then?
I'm pretty sure it has to be completed but it's worded a bit strangely:

"… earn 7,000 bonus points when they first activate this offer and then purchase a flight and hotel stay totaling $105.00 or more through Chase Travel **that are both completed by 1/31/24 11:59 PM ET**"

I take "that are both completed" as both flight and hotel stay have to be taken before 1/31/24. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I have booked hotels with chase and I have found them cheaper compared to other 3rd party websites

Chase fanboy are you?..no it is not. UR portal is always expensive by 10-20% compared to expedia, priceline etc. Many instances has limited hotel and room options.

This is so true. I don't know how many times Chase has failed me on trying to find a room that was at least the same price as direct or 3rd party booking. The reason I downgraded my preferred was because it had the $50 credit but rooms were not available through travel portal. But if I called chase directly to book they could do it but not apply $50 credit or use special chase offers to help discount. It gets worse every year. $150 room on booking.Com / $190 on chase and the point equivalent is to $190. They are not doing favors .

Have you gotten the points? The Flight AND hotel wording concerns me since it sounds like I need to do flight and hotel, I only wanna book hotels.

Chase Travel is skinned on top of Expedia. It is just Expedia with Chase logo

Been a couple years for me, but the hotels and flights I booked it was the same dollar price point with the extra bonus of 1.5x point redemption on the reserve. My destinations were only Vegas and socal though so maybe that makes a difference

So I was curious if what some people here were saying since I don't use Chase Travel much. I just did a comparison on chase and Expedia. Same hotel and same date and same room. Hyatt Regency Los Angeles Internation Airport from Dec 1 to Dec 3, 2 queen room. Both show the same exact price of $386 total. I did it with some other hotels and again same price. Where exactly are people getting 10-20% more? I always though Chase was powered by Expedia in the first place?

I remember before flights were always more expensive via the chase portal, however, when I went to purchase my airline tickets they were the same price as third party sites (not including the random non legit sites).

I ended purchasing directly from the airline though (since Chase was not a partner with that airline).

Does this transaction have to be both a flight and hotel? or just either or?

Not look like to be, it seems it is much more expensive than Expedia, everything is more expensive in Chase portal
