Considering hopping on this, currently running a Ryzen 7 2700X, thoughts?
FYI - The 14 series will be coming out on October 17th, not really much improvement over the 13 series so maybe 13 series will have a discount to get rid of them. I'm guessing you already have a graphics card, I think the KF version does not have integrated graphics.

There's not going to be any socketed Meteor Lake CPUs. So unless AMD does something, Raptor Lake prices will more or less stay where they are.
I'm tempted to jump on this as a i5-12400T upgrade, because I don't see prices going down.

Spend more, get more. this is an upgrade from what you have it's just not a big enough one to really justify building a new system. There are too many good deals on better CPUs like the 12700K, 12,900K, 13600 k or 13700K. The rest of the system is going to be similar money to build

I have this CPU. It rocks. If you can find a cheap mobo to pair with then go for it. Amazing bang for your buck especially now at this price. Check microcenter for mobos too if that's an option.
My RTX 2070 is certainly my bottleneck now.

Are you running into issues with current build? Are you using for work, video editing, gaming? It's hard to recommend anything since everyones use case varies. For example I built an old i7 4890 + 1080 ti for my 10 year old nephew who plays fortnite and valo olin 1080p. That super old build still kills those games at 1080 but struggles a bit on 2k. If you are not having performance issues for what you use your computer for, then I would not look to upgrade. Don't fall into the trap of future proofing, technology moves so fast that your future proof build will be outdated in 6months-year

Consider some Zen4 bundles. We should see some good ones this month and next.
Good price. Just bought an RX 6800, best to match with ryzen 5xxx to max gpu performance with SMA. My old xeon 1650 v3 will be a bottle neck for the 6800.
Because they are now a scummy chinese-run company that likes to pull shady tactics, like not honoring rebates, sending out used gear, etc.
Scummy or not, I'm glad people still use them. Amazon doesn't price match bankrupt sellers. It does seem like people have fairly good experiences if you stick to only ever buying from Newegg (never a 3rd party), but there is also that whole gamers nexus review where they seem so be really freaking shady.

Compared to spending 155 plus 150 on a motherboard assuming you get a z690 ddr4 motherboard
The Intel would maybe be 3-5% faster than the 5700x but at least cost twice as much to change platforms
