You don't have to buy "their" battery which is almost $200. Almost if not all these "built-in" batteries are the same and can be purchased for $99 + free shipping at Massimo: https://www.massimomotor.com/Mass...tery-Black
I own 4 of these different sizes from different brands (DT-Pro with same LG compressor, Rock & Rocker, and Massimo from Costco). 2 of them came with included battery and the batteries have been super convenient at moving the coolers around at picnics. The one with the LG compressor has been running reliably for 4 years.
You do understand that the LG compressors listed in the class action are for LG full size refrigerators?

I've had a Setpower RV60D PRO 60qt similar to this form factor that has been running all yr non-stop in my truck when camping and in my garage.

My NewAir cooler arrived today. I was hoping that it would run directly off of solar (not that anything says that it would, but I was hopeful). I won't run directly off of solar. As the website and manual states, solar is used to charge the battery. I may buy a battery so that I can use it entirely off-grid without needing to connect it to a battery or solar generator. When I plug it into my EcoFlow Delta 2, the EcoFlow app says that it draws 65 watts on Max, which is close to what the NewAir manual states. Now I'll see if I can find a good(?) off-brand battery for the NewAir. Note: Overall build quality seems fine, but it is not up to the level of EcoFlow, and shouldn't be expected at this price point.

Please update if you find a battery cheaper than the 99 dollar Massimo one mentioned a few pages back.

Not many people would want to do this, but I confirmed that I could run the NewAir cooler off of a small 12v Milwaukee battery. I then plugged in a solar panel, and the solar panel charged the battery while the unit was cooling. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/eg...vw4dp&dl=0.

Hang on a bit. I'll be adding an M12 Milwaulkee battery to the battery compartment tomorrow. The battery, combined with a small solar panel on the cover, may be just what you need to last 8 hours on a pier (when it is sunny). If you use the $189 optional battery, you'll likely get 8 hours. If you start with the cooler cold, and the $189 battery fully charged, you can run it for three hours on that fully charged 173wH battery (the cooler uses 60 watts on MAX). 60 watts x 3 hours = 180wH That's on MAX though. The cooler won't be running on MAX all the time, once it gets cold, especially if you have it in the shade or at least covered with a white sheet or something to keep the direct sun off of it. The unit is black, and I've already noticed that the outside of the unit absorbs the heat from the sun really quickly.
Probably sound stupid. But I'll probably put a bag of ice in there to help maintain temperature. Let me know how the M12 Battery works out.

Did any of you purchase the extended warranty for 2 or 3 years?
Anyone have any experience with them to know if they're legit?

My unit was DOA as I mentioned previously in a comment here.
I opened a ticket with them a week ago. After their first response asking if I want to return for a replacement or refund, they stopped responding although I sent them two emails.
I called them today, and the rep has sent in a request for a refund, and shipping cost will not be refunded, and they said it will take up to 2 weeks to get the refund.
I needed to mark an X on the manufacturer label at the bottom and sent them a photo of it.
So, I lost $10 for shipping with a dead unit that I need to recycle it somehow.
I might try to open it and see if I can fix it, but I doubt it. The screen's circuit might be damaged.
Just FYI, if you have a non-working unit as I saw some already posted here.

I just recieved mine from newair.com.
I plugged it in, adjusted the temps (fridge 37, freezer -4).
Came back 1 hour later, screen panel is off, not turning on after multiple button presses. Unit is somewhat cold. Unplugged and plugged back into wall, still not turning on.

Left it plugged in. came back 1 hr later again, screen on, but fridge temp says 43 and freezer says 50. (its now been 2 hours since being plugged in). Started adjust temps using buttons, and screen turned off again in front of me, buttons dead.

Also everytime compressor turns on or off, the whole unit shakes for 1 second and makes a loud noise.

Definitely quality control issues, as i saw 2 similar posts in this thread with similar issues.
I wonder if the thermal cut off switch kicked on. I haven't left my $145 35qt Vevor on for more than 30 mins yet but with all these issues I'll have to give it a shot.

Took it out for its first spin on a camping trip this weekend. We're pretty impressed. While it's relatively heavy, the fact we didn't have to use ice greatly offsets that. You'd probably need a 70qt cooler to match the amount of usable space in this with ice. Build quality seems solid.

Having the freezer was super handy. For the first time we could keep frozen stuff actually frozen. Set at 4 degrees and 31 degrees, it used a bit more electricity than I was hoping. No firm numbers but I'm guessing close to 1400 watts over 2.5 days with the weather sunny and 80+ during the heat of the day (cooler mostly in the shade). I'm hoping our Jackery 300 and Solar Saga 100 will mostly keep it running, but we have a new 320 watt solar panel coming to pair with our Bluetti PS72 if we fall behind at all.

The removable bins was a nice touch for loading. Temperatures we're well maintained. A few times we ran out of charge the temp on the freezer section rose relatively quickly, but not the refrigerator section. That makes sense as the temps will tend to equalize.

The noise from it was audible, but even nearby not objectionable. I don't think anybody in other sites would have even been able to hear it. I ordered a battery off of Aliexpress primarily to provide some emergency backup and piece of mind. About $100 shipped. We'll see how that goes.

At any rate, we weren't sure it was a good purchase, but initial impressions are quite positive. We'll see how it holds up.

How cold does something like this even get? Most 120v AC mini fridges have terrible cooling and those are plug ins. I wouldn't expect something like this to work great.

Just get a decent cooler and pack it with ice.

Love mine! This price is amazing! I paid $250 for mine. I bought the BougeRV battery to use it completely without plug in.
I have BougeRv and I love it also. I use it everyday and received so many compliments. Thinking of selling all of my Yeti coolers.

Did you wait 24 hours before you turned it on to let the "freon" settle?

Emailed them the same day it was delivered to me, they asked for a video of the broken unit, sent it to them, did not hear back for about 36 hrs so I decided to live chat to expedite things.

Spoke to same guy on live chat that reviewed my earlier emails. He confirmed it was broken after reviewing the video. He initially offered replacement only. I asked for a refund, but he refused to refund the original shipping cost I paid. Live chat below:

Charles Trapp: Please note that the cost you paid to have the unit shipped to your location is non-refundable. Newair will provide you with a prepaid return label to have the unit returned back to us.

Myself: you're telling me i'm losing money for you guys shipping me an item thats broken?

Charles Trapp: Please note that the unit was shipped via FedEx and the service has been used and paid for. Newair will cover the cost to have it returned.

Myself: i paid for a shipping service to ship me a broken item of yours? I didnt pay to ship a broken item, that is not what I purchased

Charles Trapp: I am sorry to hear that. However, these are the terms and policies set in place.

Myself: please send me a link to this term and policy

Charles Trapp: I can proceed with a refund but, the cost of shipping in non-refundable.

Myself: please send me a link to the terms and policies

Charles Trapp: Sure, here you go.
Charles Trapp uploaded: image.png [***he uploads pic of policies for warranty claims***]

Myself: this is not a warranty claim. This is a product refund

Charles Trapp: Since the unit arrived damaged it is a warranty claim for a refund.
Charles Trapp: Please note that the cost of shipping is non-refundable. Please advise how you would like to proceed.

Myself: your warranty terms state they apply if the product was used under normal operating conditions, i never used this product, because it never worked

Charles Trapp: The unit is unboxed and plugged in, it is not unopened. Please note that when the item is unboxed and plugged in it is considered used.
Charles Trapp: Please advise how you would like to proceed.

Myself: I will be contacting my credit card company.
Myself: Thanks

Filed credit card dispute.

Avoid Newair, they should at least feel somewhat bad that they are shipping out this many broken units.

I ordered mine off Amazon when they still had it in stock, slightly more, but wanted an easy return process if it was DOA. Fortunately, mine is operating normally. I've just left it plugged in for almost a week now in my garage as a stress test and its holding temps fine on both sides.

Just received it today.
Box was slightly damaged, but the internals are unblemished.
Cleaned it, plugged it in, waited about 30 - 35 min for it to cool down and seems like it's working fine!
Really nice for the price, I would say!

Don't forget to register it online afterwards.
