Literally everyone who purchases a new car is underwater on their loan. All new cars lose about 20% of their value as soon as you drive them off the lot. Even if you buy a used car, it will depreciate each year and probably be worth less than your loan value before long.
So that poster definitely needs to just learn to drive it better. I agree with ya
