carcinogenic nonstick? what is the nonstick material exactly? how hot do these things get? Like will the plastic outsides heat up so you have to inhale plastics also?
What can this do that a seasoned carbon pan can't ? we make thick crispy savory pancakes Laden with good oil on it.
This looks easy and simple, I want a nice hot waffle also, but at some point you might ask yourself, are we just gonna keep doing the same and adding more and more pollution to our bodies and world? If you don't try to make healthier choices for yourself and environment, who will? China who hates us and makes all this stuff?
I've switched to stainless steel and cast iron cookware. Just use butter with stainless, helps things not stick. Adding a few drops of olive oil with the butter helps temper it and keep it the butter from burning. No more non-stick pans for me

If you add blue food coloring to the waffle mix, you can make blue waffles.

China makes whatever our companies ask them to make.

That said, I'm 100% with you about nonstick. By now the evidence regarding PFAs is pretty overwhelming that it's not good for you.

I spent $150 on a cast iron traditional waffle iron from Appalacian Cast Iron. Very well spent.

It is very easy to use, not as easy as these electric non sticks but not far behind at all. I never have to worry about scratching the surface and the cleanup is far easier than the electrics because the iron comes apart in two pieces and it's just a quick scrub under hot water and done.

Consumer Reports actually rated this as one of the best! I bought one last spring and it has served me well ever since. It cooks evenly and the overflow works perfect! It is so much better than the Cusinart one I own.

The one that's frugal but just smart enough to know that it's no deal if it adds toxins to your food and fouls environment.

Yeah like China bans BPA in their country but will make it for us, they know what garbage we will tolerate... and did you do a search and the cheapest you found was 150? they could make it more affordable if they saw a demand… in the meanwhile I'm fine with crispy pancake

I bought this one 2 years ago for $30. Still works well and does a good job with the waffles.
I've had a waffle maker for about 20 years. They never seem to wear out. And I'm the type that won't throw out something that still works even if I've had it for 20 years and would like a different one. Oh well, at least my OCD is good for the environment. Otherwise I'd jump on this deal.

Well, of course you can do that, not sure why though. Maybe green for St Patrick's day. Or red for Christmas. Can even substitute cranberry juice for some of the buttermilk in the batter and dye it naturally AND add a unique, albeit odd, flavor.

Backing you up on the garbage we will tolerate here. I'm in Europe right now, and literally everything tastes better, even the American restaurants. Everything has less sugar (and they use sugar, not HFCS), fat, etc. A lot of things at the grocery stores have nutritional scores on them. That's why Americans are fat as $&@#

By that standard if it's not okay for US citizens to consume or use, then we should not make it, sell it, or provide it to others, correct? You may want to research a few of your big name compani
es.
