Sweetwater has the G&L Fullerton Deluxe Legacy HB Electric Guitar in Ruby Red Metallic as a dent 'n' scratch special for $1225. Shipping is free.

Note from Sweetwater: This is a Dent 'n' Scratch model, which means we have inspected the guitar for structural issues, but there could be minor cosmetic flaws present that do not affect playability.

Features:
  • Vintage-style take on the classic S-500 design
  • CLF-100 single-coils deliver '50s-style chime and quack
  • AW4470 humbucking pickup creates a fat tone with musical harmonics
  • Coil-splitting switch unlocks single-coil tones in the bridge
  • Passive Treble and Bass system enables precision tone control
  • Lightweight body and comfortable contours feel great to play
  • "Modern Classic" neck profile feels great in your hands
  • Dual-Fulcrum vibrato tailpiece enables expressive playing options

Are these actually dent & scratch or is this a way for Sweetwater to sell them at a discount? The reason I ask is because Sweetwater is usually very thorough in their descriptions and photographs when selling B-stock guitars.

Last I discussed this with my SW sales engineer on a different D'n'S deal, he told me Sweetwater doesn't actually know why they're marked off as dent n scratch from the manufacturer, only that they were deemed adequate from a full structural inspection. It's very likely these were just very minor cosmetic write-offs that G&L weren't comfortable selling as brand new (minor scratches, finish dings, etc).

G&L has their own online store for B-stock clearance guitars [myshopify.com] as well. They document what's wrong with photos, if you want to compare. I'm thinking the SW dent 'n' scratch guitars might be in better shape overall though.
