About this Game:
Octopath Traveler 2 is a brand-new entry in the Octopath Traveler series, the first installment of which was initially released in 2018 and sold over 3 million copies worldwide. It takes the series' HD-2D graphics, a fusion of retro pixel art and 3DCG, to even greater heights.
In the world of Solistia, eight new travelers venture forth into an exciting new era. Where will you go? What will you do? Whose tale will you bring to life? Every path is yours to take. Embark on an adventure all your own.
Begin your adventure as one of eight new travelers, each with their own origins, motivations, and unique skills.
The series' HD-2D graphics, a fusion of retro pixel art and 3DCG, have reached even greater heights.
The story takes place in Solistia, where diverse cultures thrive from east to west and the industries of the new era flourish. You can sail the seas and explore every corner of a world that changes from day to night.
Each traveler has a unique set of Path Actions they can use to battle townspeople, obtain items, take others along in their travels, and more. Where will you go? What will you do? Every path is yours to take.
Familiar mechanics from the original game have been preserved, like the freedom to develop your travelers' jobs and skills, as well as the Break and Boost system that made battles so exhilarating. New mechanics have also been added.
Free shipping on 80 bucks? The products they sell don't weigh much.
All not one store on socal has it in stock. Might as well just shut them all down if they keep them in stock and force us to spend 80+ to get it shipped for free...

So I ended up snagging this with my order totaling at $90. If you dig around on GameStop, you'll find several games are marked pretty low. If you're a Pro member like myself, they get marked even lower. Here's a few that I ended up buying…
Octopath Traveler 2 PS4 - $13.50
Goat Simulator 3 Xbox - $4.49
Valkyrie Elysium PS5 - $9.00
Star Ocean: The Divine Force Xbox - $9.00
Redout 2 Xbox - $22.49
Art of Rally PS5 - $15.74
Need for Speed Unbound Xbox - $11.25
Overall a pretty good haul of games I've been wanting to get my hands on. And they're all new rather than preowned. That doesn't mean a whole lot as sometimes I've received games labeled "new" opened in the box.
So yeah, just poke around through the labyrinth of GameStop's horrid website for a little and you may be able to find a few good sales like I did! Goodluck!
I did the same, I was also lucky enough to find a copy of SF6 Collector's Edition for pick up locally for $62, which is crazy.
Same here (online though) took an hour to settle on these games. Hopefully they are atleast in their original case with cover art🤞
15 Octopath Traveler 2 ps4
9.99 Stranger of Paradise ps4
14.99 Tales of Symphonia ps4
10 Valkrie Elysium ps5
10 Star Ocean Divine Force ps5
19.99 The DioField Chronicle ps4
If a Gamestop store has only ONE copy of a game it will NOT show up as available for pick-up or shipping. Just a heads up for those frustrated with it not showing up as available.
FYI: This game is on the Gamestop Trade 2, get $50 towards a $39.99 or more game promotion currently going on. So if you have another qualifying title it might be a decent flip if you decide you don't like the game.
Lol just received mine. Ordered 6 NEW games and not one of them were sealed. Atleast they are in their original cases with covers😐
First time I've had an issue with GameStop and new games! Ordered 6 NEW and two of them came in a sleeve with a generic case, but the other 4 were factory sealed. Luckily a local store has one of them in stock, so I'll just exchange it. The other isn't in stock nearby, so I'll probably live with it since it was $7 and their return/exchange policy for shipped returns incurs a $9 fee. Might put in a support ticket and see if I can get a complete copy though. Will post back if I have success.

That's why you do your returns in store. There's no fee incurred doing this.

If I were returning and not exchanging, that's what I would do, but my local store doesn't have both games in stock for exchange.
However, I DID have success talking with customer support. I told them the situation and how disappointed I was to receive games advertised as new with only a disc and paper sleeve from a company I've shopped with for decades, and they've already shipped replacements to me at no cost.
Treat the CS agents like people and they'll take care of you as best they can—this isn't the first time I've had success talking with their CS department and getting great service either, so I don't think it's a fluke.
