Product Details:
Players vie for control of gem mines, trade routes, and storefronts to master the gem trade and attract the attention of nobles. By accruing more ways to produce gems, players work to accumulate victory points in a race for prestige and power.
While Splendor is quick to learn it offers a different challenge everytime. Collect raw gems in the form of unique poker-like tokens. Use those to acquire cards with mines, boats, caravans and even guild storefronts throughout the world.
This family and adult card game can be played with 2 to 4 players and is suitable for ages 10 and up. The average playtime is 30 minutes.

This is fun game. Simple to play and understand. I like games you can bust out, and starting playing 5min after opening. The chunky chips are fun to play with. Highly recommend.
Semi-related, Splendor used to have one one of the better board game phone/tablet implementations, but the developer pulled it from every app store for some reason. I played it so much as a digital game that going back to the original is simultaneously a treat (much more aesthetically pleasing) and a mildly increased challenge (the computer isn't keeping score for me).
I have a lot of board/card games so I don't have a lot of space and can wait for the Marvel to go on sale...
Your question as stated might imply that there was a choice between the two board games at the same price. I answered your question to save other people the disappointment of looking up Marvel Splendor only to find it's $16 more.
