The downside to the Blink is that despite it having the ability to be hard-wired, the hard-wired portion is only to ring the doorbell chime in your home (if it has one). It doesn't actually power the device and it still needs to run off batteries. For my in-laws it wouldn't have mattered because the place we installed their doorbell is in an area where there isn't any existing wiring and where we didn't want to mess with running extra wiring. Usability wise, I'd say it's not quite as 'refined' as the Ring interface and UI but it still does the job. We even have it so that whenever someone rings the doorbell, the video feed pops up onto their Amazon Echo Show so they can see who it is before answering the door (they are not phone savvy enough to realize they can just look on their phone). I have no idea if that actually use it that way lol.
