I have one of these and they work fantastic for recording iPhone 15 prores video. If anyone cares to know that fact. I can record 60 fps prores with this.
Are you sure this works well?
I recorded 4K60 PRORES on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and although there's no indication that the video recording is having issues, I basically got unusable video after viewing playback. The framerate was like 10-15fps and very choppy.
I would check your recorded videos to verify because I would hate for you or anyone else to have high hopes and record a bunch of video, only for the video to be terribly choppy.
If you get the same results, I would want to pin this message as a PSA for people who wants to utilize the feature.
this any good? the reviews are too mixed. i don't care if it over heats or whatnot. i just need it to read/write fast and not have it go corrupt. thanks

Overheating causes slow read/write and reaches a corrupt state faster ... so you should probably care

I just brought this last month for around $25 from Amazon. It is smaller than it looks but still my pixel 6 pro case has to come off to use it. I brought a USB C extender and it works fine. Transfer speeds where the fastest I have ever had as this is my first USB C flash drive. Being super helpful, I don't remember what they are though. Honestly, I'm tempted to buy more. Every time I use it I lose the cap, but it is supposed to be weather resistant. I need to find a little string to put in it or something.

This is a good USB flash drive. I have the 128GB version and the read speed is as advertised. The build is solid. Just picked up the 256GB version as storage drive for my Pixel.
My new favorite USB C Drive. Highly recommend looking into ventoy - https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html - to allow multiple ISO booting (ubuntu live cd, windows install, etc.). My favorite feature is the ability to boot into a VHD file to boot Windows To Go.

quick question, so can we transfer pics and videos from a USC C compatible phone to this drive without having connect to a computer or laptop ?
Yes you could. I use FileBrowser Pro on my iPhone to do just that. You don't actually need FileBrowser Pro (or any third party software) but it makes the process easier.
