Buy the warranty, the LB/RB tend to stick and I've warranted mine 3 times in a year now, other than that it's great to use

Does anyone know if the series 1 components like the back paddles work with this version?
The Paddles will slot in, but the thumb sticks are not compatible. The have different grooves.

The face buttons are also notorious for not registering an input. Would avoid this controller and save yourself a headache.

I don't know that the paddles will work actually. They have different "buttons" underneath. I don't have any of the OG ones left to try it.

I might get it from MS since I got about $50 in credit from rewards and other things. Doesn't seem it have an option for extended warranty if purchase through Microsoft though and Walmart gives you until Jan 31 to return also.

Read recently that MS is coming out with a new controller soon. Probably with Hall effect thumbsticks that never get drift.

The fact that these controllers continue to go on sale every other day, seems to indicate the rumors are true.

You can get an extended warranty with credit cards though. Some only require part of the order to be paid with card.

The back paddles are incredible. Especially to use as thumbstick buttons

Will it be wireless?

MS already licensed GameSir to produce a wired controller with Hall Effect sensors, but I'm not seeing anything related to MS releasing a first party controller with Hall Effect sensors.

I still have my OG Elite controller and have tested. The paddles from OG Elite Controller will/do work as buttons underneath are essentially the same. They are just a little longer and wider. The only issue with using the OG lower paddles could be unintentional button presses since they sit a bit lower on the Elite Series 2 grips. The OG Elite Thumb Sticks have 4 grooves vs. 3 grooves for the Elite Series 2. So these Will Not Work.
Pics Included for reference. Note: Silver ones are from OG Elite Controller.

Not sure if this is a better deal but dell has elite 2 non-core for $159.99 and there is an amex $50 off $100 dropping it down to $109.99.

Is this that much better than a standard controller which is about $45?

Depends on your play style. For a casual gamer who plays no FPS or Battle Royale, I'd say no.

I have an Elite Series 2 that I snagged new for $80 and while I wouldn't ever pay $180 for it, it is superior to the basic controller in every way—minus the stick drift potential.
