Oh is it that time of year I spend $20 on microSD cards to toss them in a drawer? I spend the same amount and the storage space of the cards keep going up.

Thanks for the heads up . 256 is only 6.99 more which is still cheaper than last prime day price if I remember correctly . Probably going to grab a few 256's since thankfully certain android devices still use them and they are great for emulation storage for various roms

Yes, it's a class 10 u3 a2, should work.
That's read speeds - write speeds are deliberately not specified outside of "will be lower" (and even that was buried in the spec sheet download - which you'd expect to have the actual hard numbers, but they wouldn't even put them there!), which should be enough to give anyone pause over the idea of putting in a device that will be using it for just that purpose 99.9+% of the time.

Also, regular (μ)SD cards aren't meant for that amount of writing, which is why the Samsung Endurance cards are so often mentioned for use in dashcams (including in a prior comment on this post). Regular cards are often complained about having lasted just months in a dashcam (while some others claim they've still been going strong for much longer, they're definitely in the minority & are likely using a card that's much larger than needed for what their dashcam records). Many dashcams apparently won't even properly warn about the cards no longer working - something you DON'T want to find out when you actually NEED it.

I don't recall the details, but there have been other posts where the "Viofo doesn't recommend Samsung" thing has been discussed, and the general result was that virtually everyone who ignored that had no problems in actual use.

unless the sd card is being used in a business setting, or some use case where there may be critical need for excess storage, it really does not make sense to buy excess storage for use "tomorrow" if you do not need it today. the price of storage is constantly going down. for the regular consumer use case (ie. storing fotos, home videos, non-critical stuff), only buy the storage that you need today. when you need more storage in the future, you will be able to buy that storage at a cheaper price because it will be in the future.

the mentality of buying gadgets with the most cutting edge specs in order to "future proof" instead of buying the gadget with the specs that you need today is also flawed in most cases. for example, instead of buying a 40gbps data transfer usb c cable, just get the 10gbps cable. you don't need to "future proof" and pay double for the expensive cable today if your device, today, only supports 10gpbs transfers. buy the cheap 10gbps cable today - it is all your device can handle. in the future, if you find that you need a faster cable you will be able to buy such a cable for a cheaper price. and you will end up owning 2 cables instead of 1 having spent about the same amount of money, or less, to boot.

of course, this is a generalization. there are cases where it makes sense to "future proof". ie. if you are installing an hdmi cable and running it through the walls then it behooves you to buy the latest spec'ed cable because you likely do not want to tear down/redo that work again in the future.

also, this does not consider things like inflation and unforeseen product scarcity. if you think that next year there will be a shortage of sd cards and the prices will skyrocket then go ahead and stock up today! Smilie

Yeah, also it comes with a data recovery warranty which might prove useful if somehow the card goes bad cause most probably won't back it up

Is this good for cameras?
Yes it is.
I'm using it with my GoPro, Sony A7 series, Fujifilm X3 (Utilizing the adapter), and even in my security cameras for on site recordings and has had zero issues. Still cameras have no problem when shooting in RAW burst mode and never have had a video issue or buffering problem like older ones.

Only issue: 128GB may seems a lot but actually you can run out of it fast and if your device takes a bigger size memory, I suggest looking primary for that.
