These area great. I bought the stand that goes with it. I bought them at Sports Authority before the closed down and had them over 10 years no issues. Better than bowflex dumbbells.

No, these are a different expandable version. Those were to sport.

The advantage of these is that you can buy expansion weights when you hit the upper weight on these over time.

Damn, how did I miss this one?

What's the difference between the sport and the elite? Doesn't look like much. Gonna hold out.
sounds like Sport EXP is better?

The Sport EXP has the auto-lock feature. This is a cool feature that makes using the adder weights more convenient. It involves a special lever located on the side of the handle. When the lever is flipped down, the opening to the hollow tubes opens. When the lever is flipped up, the opening closes.

The automatic part of the auto-lock lever feature comes into play when you place the PowerBlock handle inside the nested weights. The lever automatically flips up and closes the tube opening because you're pushing it against the weight block rail.

PowerBlock Sport EXP Auto Lock Mechanism
The benefit is that you never have to remember to manually lock the lever to close the tubes.

The Elite Series dumbbells have a manual lock feature. You have to remember to manually move the lever to "Closed" before using the dumbbells any time you put the adder weights inside. The lever for this manual mechanism is located on the top of the handle.

Sport also has a bit more open design. The top two corner bars are not present so you dont reach through anything. Some say better for bigger hands, however I've got big hands and dont see much different between using either.

Agreed. Now that I look at it, it sounds like the 'elite' is actually the standard version. I would expect 'elite' to be better than sport but I guess the naming convention is all twisted. It also sounds like the Sport might have contoured bars compared to the straight ones of the Elite? Not sure but I would prefer that as well. This one website I found comparing the two says the Elite are the only ones Made in the USA but who knows if that is still accurate.

Kind of disappointed this is listed as 'Prime', but looks like it will take more than a week to arrive.

I've followed powerblocks for many years. I owned the original SportBlock 45s for about 15 years before finally nabbing the Sport EXP 90s recently in that woot deal.

The new sports do have a contoured rubber handle. Not a noticable issue if you ask me. The core functionality of any powerblock set IMO is superior and worth dealing with little differences is you get a good deal.

That said, over the 15 years I've watched them muck up the naming and feature sets to the point where you really have to analyze pictures and product descriptions to see what your getting.

Eg. Sport back in the day used to mean non-expandable, but now I own "Sport EXP"s up to 90 🤷. There are also apparently some elites made in china and their stage 2 & 3 aren't compatible with US elites (follow up that last statement with some research to verify me).

PowerBlock reps if you wind up reading this, get your marketing consistent. You have an amazing product, but not aligning your features clearly with your product line titles is maddening. Almost drove me to alternative products.

All these weights were much cheaper pre-covid. Guess they've jacked up the price due to inflation so we're used to them now.

They make a version of these specifically listed "Elite USA" that are made in the US, but usually cost more. I imagine these particular ones are made in China. Weird that Amazon isn't saying where things are made anymore...

For the price its safe to assume these are not the "USA" ones

However, I do find it confusing they have all of the following with what appears to be pretty minimal differences:

- Sport
- Elite
- Pro
- Pro 100
- "Powerblock" (which I think are just the originals)

Is there any chance you can define "regularly" please? I was going to pull the trigger at Dick's (since I like their return policy better) and use their coupon to get the expansions, but the price is up to 359.99. Do you know if they were down to 299 to more closely compete with Amazon or did you see it at that price before? Just wondering if I should give it some time to potentially come back down in price.

They shipped me four powerblocks instead of two. Mental. Also appears that one of the powerblocks was not new, so people better check they aren't getting repackaged items (not that it makes a huge amount of difference).
