You'll want the heated unit which has "Proheat" in the name and about $10 more. [walmart.com] The unit linked by the OP is unheated.

The pet vs. non-pet versions just include different attachments. The major ones are included between all of them.

I have the Proheat Pet. I use it for deep cleaning car upholstery and it does a good job. I've also used it for regular carpet shampooing. Does a respectable job at both and works like a rental carpet shampooer. You fill one vat with clean hot water and cleaner, use vacuum nozzle that sprays down the hot water+detergent, and it also vacuums up the now-dirty water just sprayed into the other vat.

Looks completely the same except the amazon one comes with a self cleaning tool.

From what I can tell, the Costco one includes additional attachments and keeps the water heated, so I'd probably go with that one.

Great info! I'm going to return the unheated one.

I have one of these non heated units. Works great for small stains on carpet, and furniture & car upholstery. I find it lightweight and mobile. This is easy to fill and empty. I leave it filled, and grab it when the cat pukes, or something gets spilled on the carpet. It really does work well for small areas that need a quick once over to get a stain out. This will sound corny, but this has simplified our lives when dealing with small carpet or upholstery stains.

If you want to remove stain, you should not use heated water because warm or hot water helps the stain seep deeper into the fabric. That's why when you are trying to remove stains you use cold water

How do the ones linked in here compare with the larger "Pro" model? I returned one because it stopped spraying the solution. Walmart's stupid policy wouldn't let me even exchange it and it went up in price so I didn't bother. So now I'm stuck with a $135 gift card credit for Walmart 🙄

I prefer Amazon. Return process is so much simpler and makes more sense.

Anyway. Debating getting that $98 ProHeat instead. I don't have pets. Would be mainly for cleaning my truck seats.

I just purchased this model after a lot of research. The link below was helpful. The "heat" function is passive heating from the motor and not active heating from an element.

The model you're asking about is essentially the same device, with the same performance in a slightly smaller frame. The additional cost is from extra brush heads and passive heating.

Some reviews complained of the hose wearing out in the pro models. That's what convinced me to purchase this model, even though I wish it came with more heads (that I probably still wouldn't use) Smilie

Only thing I can add to the comments from my experience is that over time, hair will get caught in the head and compromise the suction intensity. You can either clean it with something like a pipe tube cleaner ($6 for a bundle), or buy a new head for $8. Obviously the pipe cleaner is a much better buy but you can never find the damn things when you need them. I've had the non-heated older version for about 6 years now and have only just bought a new head now. Works very well for pee stains or food/drink spills. Worth picking up, especially at this price.
