So I also have one for mainly pet stains but it also is great for upholstery. I think this is a good deal, a few things of note:

The portable ones do not heat up the water but can keep hot water luke warm, you need to put in hot tap water as the heating element isn't strong enough to heat the water. Depending on the type of stain you might need to do multiple passes as compared to an upright model. I did cold water the first few times and I was wondering why it wasn't as clean and I re-read the instructions, and it states to use hot tap water and formula.
The portable ones are also recommended to use the portable cleaning fluid version. There is an upright formula and a portable formula and although I notice a small difference when I use the upgright formula it still works and is cheaper than the portable formula.
If you need to use it alot for rugs or something on the ground and have a bad back or creaky knees it might be easier to get an upright model as the portable one requires you to be on your hands and knees. The portable one is really nice though as you can easily do stairs and car seats.
The portable one leaves a damp feeling as it doesn't have heating elements on the cleaning tool, some of the uprights have heating elements which dries the area better than the portable one.
I recommend using gloves when you disconnect attachments as they tend to leak right where you connect the attachment to the hose. I do like the self-cleaning tool that comes with it. I don't think I need to state this but clean out the dirty reservoir after each use.

I've had one of these for a very long time and for spot cleaning they're fantastic. Anyone with dogs knows messes happen, this thing can clean your couch, your car, your rug, etc. It's nozzle is kinda small so not for large scale jobs but it does a great job for smal clean ups. My buddy's wife has taken it multiple times and I had to get him to wrestle it back away from her.

Primary difference is:
  • No heat vs. Heat (aka "Proheat"), and
  • Attachments

I have the Proheat model. They all come with the same core attachments. You can buy whichever is on sale and seek out the other attachments if they're important to you.

I like the heated model but someone said heat isn't good for stains. Haven't had any issues. I've used it for cleaning car upholstery, carpet on stairs and other random carpet/rug stains in the house. The Bissell branded cleaning fluid is excellent but you can use other liquid detergents in it.

I've owned one of these (earlier model) for about 10 years. Is it perfect? No. But for the price and flexibility, it can't be beat. I use it for auto detailing and cleaning interior upholstery.

You would be amazed at how much crup is in your couch/chair!

Ironically these are not easy to clean. Read the reviews—the tanks aren't easy to empty and clean, neither are the nozzles and hose. They've addressed these issues with newer models. And newer ones have larger tanks.

From Consumer Reports July 2023:

The Winner: Bissell Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaners

In our tests, both of the Bissell Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaners worked better than the Resolve sprays. And there were few differences between the two machines—beyond the fact that the Bissell ProHeat has a stair-cleaning tool and looks a little more modern. Both are about as noisy as a standard vacuum, but the ProHeat is a smidge quieter. The added cost of the ProHeat may be worth it if you have carpeted stairs or if you prefer a slightly quieter appliance.

Ours arrived this weekend. My 2 year old had basically destroyed out new couch with stains. This thing worked wonders. So in my case it works great.
