This looks almost exactly like the Pit Boss one with a different lid that costs a little less. This was on sale at Walmart for $138 a few months back.

A good gas grill with a good regulator can maintain that 220 and with the pellet maze, maintain steady smoke. Lately I only smoke my butts for about six hours and then finish them low and slow in the oven and they are just as good as a full duration smoke.

i only get dust if my grill is really dirty. i am sure both taste real good in the end. i say we do a taste test! Applause

Argh, I just bought the tailgate propane grill and stated I was done with smoking/bbq. But this is tempting enough I am going to buy it too. One is going back.

Some believe (and I don't disagree) that this is because when cooking with smoke (aka NOT cold smoking) your food only absorbs smoke until the outside is cooked or dry. I found a long explanation of it many years ago where a guy ran dozens of tests, and it seemed valid enough for me to conclude it wasn't internet BS. Also I've done the same as you, but even shorter time in the smoker. My smoker usually needs a refill of charcoal or wood after about the 2nd hour to keep the temp up so I smoke for the first 2 hours then move everything into the oven for the remainder. On a pork butt I get between 1/2" and 3/4" deep smoke ring so I don't feel I'm losing anything doing it this way.

i have a ninja woodfire smoker that has 15"x11" dimensions, so even smaller than the cuisinart, and i just smoked a brisket that was just under 5lbs and i had room to spare. should be good to go unless you're hosting a party
A 5 pound brisket?

The absolute smallest brisket I've seen is 10 pounds including both the flat and point. 16/17 pounds is more typical of the briskets I've smoked. A "monster" would be a 20-pound or larger brisket.

People who only smoke the flat of a brisket are of suspect character.

I've got the country smoker (by pit boss) that this looks nearly identical to. Deal is dead, but was $150-160 over labor day, and includes the cover.

Great little grill though! Not sure this is really that much of a deal.

HORRIBLE experience with A smoke. Good little smoker but my auger took a shit on me in a few months. Customer service did absolutely nothing except want to charge me for replacement parts. Had to make a report for BBB for them to send me the parts for free. Also, they never respond back to you.

If you want to buy an asmoke, buy it from home Depot with the extended warranty
