I looked at the trash can in the post and it is flimsy for most people. The toter looked leagues above in quality. Good to hear yours lasted 27 years. Just as a heads up you may want to look at plastic welders instead of JB weld. If you have time Todd of project farm demonstrated these welders versus some epoxies like JB weld. Which I use for so many things including my Buick's lower intake manifold that would have cost me over $500 to replace. If it works for you on your toter power to you. The downside is if you buy one of these plastic welders that do a much stronger fix than most epoxies, your husband may be so busy fixing plastic stuff you may not see him for a while! lol! Some guys are fixing plastic bumpers with them. Some of them are in the $20 dollar range. Here is Todd's video if you have 15 minutes to waste:

PS I used my soldering iron to fix my $40 trimmer gas tank with a piece of laundry detergent bottle. Have a good day. Just thought I would pass along something that saved me a lot.
per the reviews the plastic is thin and the wheels break off.
I have this and it's not that heavy duty... luckily fine for me but ....

These aren't great. My driveway beat the wheels off of em, the lids fell off, the plastic wore through from dragging em without wheels, and then... Since they have the appearance of an actual garbage can, it's almost impossible to get the garbage man to pick them up.
Get a better one, or get a cheaper one. This one's in the bs zone.

Depending on your local government you can order one from them about the same price and they're better quality.

Spend $83 (regular price of this one) and get a 64 gallon black Toter from Walmart.

I paid $95 for a commercial green Toter in 1996 after our regular can was overflowing with diapers before weekly pickup. I don't recall the size but it has been abused by our county garbage pickup folks for 27 years and just started to wear a small hole in the bottom (my husband said it's from me dragging it). A little JB Weld fixed that. Sometimes it's a Slick Deal to spend a few $ for long-term results.

Notice this doesnt have the bar for the trucks to lift/dump them, so several cities will not accept these as approved trash cans, and you'll get a sticker attached to this trash can, still full of trash, and then you'll have this $30 container to hold shovels, a rake, and other garden tools. Can you tell I went through this? lol

Oh, I love Project Farm! Watching that is never a waste. I wasn't aware of plastic welders so appreciate the information. The JBWeld was ok but not top notch so I'm probably looking at a future re-repair anyway. And I have a soldering iron also. Neither will affect my husband much as it's almost hunting season….

We bought our can from a commercial refuse collection company, so I don't know if the quality differs from the ones available from Walmart. There was a little heartburn over spending so much money but our garbage men had already destroyed 2 cans from the hardware store. This thing has been tossed around, blown over, hit by trucks, and the only issue is the small bottom hole. It really was worth the money.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share!

With many municipalities switching to having their own bins that the trucks can pick up it's probably getting harder and harder to sell these. My Township just switched and basically made a ton of my bins useless.
