Would this be a good AV receiver to hook up 5 outdoor speakers and a TV?

Anybody have an opinion on how this compares to the Denon S760H?

I checked the manual and it has All-Channel Stereo. That would work for you.

Use this program to output sound from all speakers. When you play back multichannel sources, the unit mixes down the source to 2 channels, and then outputs the sound from all speakers. This program creates a larger sound field and is ideal for background music at parties.

I have both. Love both. Denon has more inputs and more channels. Yamaha had to be sent in for repair after three months of casual use. The Yamaha phone app is much better.

Again, I love the Yamaha, been buying their stuff since the 80s, but the Denon is better. But the Yamaha looks cooler. I had a little problem with the Denon sometimes pushing audio back through the tv, then not, then again, then not, which was remedied through settings, my oversight.

V4A has only 4 HDMI in
Which is ridiculous in 2023
Other than that it is a good AVR
Too bad they force you to the V6A to get an acceptable number of inputs
I don't really need all the extra features of the V6A and I don't want to use a HDMI switch because it is a poor solution.
Don't want to spend more than this price either so guess I am going to wait it out longer

Well that didn't last long.
If you were interested I would continue to check periodically and see if it comes back again.

at this price point 4 to 5 HDMI inputs is all you are going to get from any manufacturer (Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer, Yamaha, etc.)

Well the thing is my old Yamaha RXV677 has more than that and I believe it was a lower model and it is like 7 or 8 years old
Would it kill them to include more inputs on a higher end model that is a lot newer when there are dirt cheap HDMI switches

Your old Yamaha is a 7x90w model. The one posted here is a 5x80w model. It is a lower model (fewer channels and less power) than your current AVR. And also fewer inputs.

inflation has hit the AVR market hard. your money does not buy what it used to.
