Why would you invest and resell on sets that you don't even want yourself. There is literally no demands for this set.

It may have been me who voted up your thread.😂

in case you've been living under a rock since the "pandemic" LEGO got greedy and completely overhauled how they conducted their business. They used to only make a select number of sets with predetermined retirement dates. This drove demand and the exclusivity of certain high demand sets. When COVID hit they saw all the money pouring in as people were stuck at home and bored plus people that needed money and thought they could flip LEGO for profit and decided to over produce most sets and do away with retirements as a result. You wouldn't know it going by this current price but this Tree House was in high demand and hard to get. It's one of LEGO's very best sets. Sadly for all the speculators, they made way too many of them so they're stuck with them. If you are just a fan of LEGO and want to put this together I highly recommend it. If you're a speculator...sorry...you're WAY too late to get into this. Those days are over unless you have older Star Wars sets.
Yup 👍🏼. Good price if you have small kids and don't mind eventually building it with them. People need to understand demand/popularity without scarcity doesn't translate to profit either as long as that demand can be met. This set has been available for way too long and exactly deep discount like this. Why do you think they give deep discount like this in the first place? Yes, oversupply. Unlike for example the Tie fighter helmet that was only available for 12 months and Target exclusive, making it way more scarce. That's why it's selling for $300+ now. When you speculate, it is also about the opportunity costs. Where you could be putting those $140 instead of in this set. There are many other sets that have way higher likelihood to appreciate in value.

Are you talking about this specific set or ALL AND FUTURE SETS? I mean I'm 38 and just getting into it and don't plan on trying to resell really. When you got kids ain't got no time or space to be hoarding LEGO sets LOL.

With that said I really want one of those 1:8 super car sets.

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is on the top of my wishlist. I really hope it goes on sale this holiday!

Yea me too but I don't believe it's going to retire soon. I wonder if the next super car will be awesome looking.

Would this be appropriate for a 9 year old?
There isn't anything inherently dangerous or inappropriate for a 9 year old, its more of an attention span thing doing a lot of tedious building so YMMV on that, presumably you know the 9 year old better than me so you make the call.

My kid started doing some of these sets at age 5, its just a matter of taking it in steps, sometimes letting me do it for a bit usually takes a number of days.

this was my gateway set, and after 7 other large sets taking residency throughout the house, I think we've finally decided we are "done" lol.

It does make a good display piece itself, but what as with other larger sets, nicer to keep on display after adding lighting as well.

Yea, I started last week with a speed champion and now I have bought the tree house, the Batman Batmobile to do an alt build, a Ducati, and I bought the starry night lol
