Copy and pasting my comment from a previous thread of this since it contained a lot of information and would be a task to retype, hopefully this is useful to some of you (I ended up keeping it):

I bought this laptop on the previous open box deal and here is my experience with it:

A) It has a slight grainy look due to the digitizer (touch) layer that is noticeable if you look for it on white and gray backgrounds. Normal use you probably wouldn't notice it.
B) Runs warm since it's a 13700h..
C) Battery life is around 6-10 hours depending on use maybe less.
D) Cinebench r23 multi 10min is around 11-13k plugged in.
E) Both USB-C ports are thunderbolt and can charge the computer (both on right side, would have preferred the left side, but it's minor con).
F) League of Legends got around 110-130fps (set in game to 1080p I believe), and of course expect the fans to get loud though.

It's all around a GREAT laptop, but I'm on the fence about returning it due to the grainy effect alone. It's a known issue with OLED touch screens for Asus (at least that i know of).

I had tried the previous gen 1240p Zenbook 14x OLED non-touch and can confirm that it did not have the grainy look.

Most people don't seem to notice or have an issue with it otherwise it'd be mentioned more. However, it might also explain the amount of open boxes there were.

EDIT: Just want to add that this review of the 14x "Space Edition" mentions the graininess of the screen due to the digitizer:

EDIT#2 8/21/23: Regarding Open Box Warranty

After talking with two Best Buy reps on the phone and one ASUS rep here's what they told me:

A)
Best Buy by default gives a 1 year warranty to all open box items which covers everything the manufacturer warranty does.
If it does have an active manufacturer warranty, you'll have to go through the manufacturer first and if it "times" out first then Best Buy will cover it until the 1 year period.

Best buy reps then confirmed that they saw my open box Zenbook in the system being covered for 1 year by Best Buy.

B)
ASUS USA rep confirmed with me that any open-box ASUS laptop purchased from Best Buy only will have only a 90 day warranty from ASUS regardless of what date the MyAsus App tells you.

I would encourage anyone who's worried to double check their Best Buy warranty status with a CS agent and get a reference# or Case ID# in the event something happens.

I picked this up for $700 a few months ago, and it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It outperforms even "premium" laptops like the Dell XPS and absolutely eviscerates Inspirons by comparison.

You get an OLED display, H-series processor, and great battery life (for a Windows machine).

There is simply no better bang for your buck, and I highly recommend this laptop.

Good news! I just went to my local BB store in NJ and bought this exact laptop and the price rang up at $699. I know the website says $749, so I was very pleasantly surprised to get it for $699. Mine is NIB, new in box, sealed.

Thank you OP!

PS - just checked, BB website has changed, now shows $699 price.

How's the battery life on this? I can't imagine it's great with that CPU and an OLED.

Would you get this or a M1 Mac book air for general laptop use (browsing, very light gaming, media consumption, online college courses, light spreadsheet and word processing)

For the usage that you stated you can't go wrong with this laptop. However, you definitely will get better battery life out of the MacBook Air but arguably a better screen on this unit. Is that worth $200 difference when the MacBook is actually on sale for $899? That's your dilemma
