How is the Elite Series 2 Core different from a standard Microsoft XBOX Controller? Is this worth getting?
It's worthed if you play shooters. The controller is heavier than the standard controller has tension adjustable sticks, adjustable triggers and builtin battery. All you need to buy on top of that are the paddles they're not included.

this "core" version of the elite 2 controller is just the controller, it does not come with any of the "extras" the standard elite 2 controller comes with (hence the lower price "core" model vs the complete package) - paddles for the back of the controller, different size/length thumb sticks, alternate d-pad, carrying case, etc.
The main differences between any elite 2 controller and a standard controller is the elite 2's can remap buttons (from inside of an app), hold 3 separate profiles with those remap configurations, the paddles on the back of the controller (also mappable to any button), adjustable-tension thumb sticks, wrap-around rubber grip, trigger locks. 40 hour rechargeable battery life, overall have a heavier more robust feel in your hands.
I may be missing some details but I think this is the basic gist of it.
This is easily the best controller I've ever used, i keep seeing these deals and for this price and it is a steal, i wish i had got mine for this cheap. If you don't play FPS games i don't think it's really needed, but considering this is only slightly more money than a standard xbox controller, it makes it worth it regardless. I use it for all games now. My fav feature of it besides the obvious paddles and grip is being able to change the xbox button/light to any color of my choice.

It looks like the price varies by location. I still see $85.17 in my area (30281). I'll update the title to select locations.
Edit: screw it, ordered.
