It is an open standard protocol that was actually worked on with Apple, implementing some of their MagSafe designs from a couple years ago so that any phone manufacturer can add magnets that line up the charging coils to be totally optimized.
Basically, your device will always be optimally charging as wireless is inefficient by its very nature.
The speed of Qi2 hasn't been pushed to any limits yet, it is still new and the demand for fast wireless charging isn't that crazy.
