"In the 1st year of the warranty, panel, parts and labor costs are covered. In the 2nd-5th year of the warranty, only panels are covered, and labor will be charged." From LG website.

Please explain.

Edit: Just read that the 83" doesn't feature the MLA technology introduced on the other sizes. What a shame.

This or the S90C at $1999? What does the extra $1000 + get you?
only in 77"+ S90C is basically S95C with more bandwidth ,thinner looks and much cheaper price.

Black Friday. Three weeks.
Nah, that's old way of doing business. Nowadays retailers basically "prime" the market in mid OCT with the REAL deals....and then hit everyone with those fake deals around BF. Best time to buy was when Amazon declared it to be this month and everyone started following suit. Been that way for the past few years - about 2018 or so.

All of the traditional times to buy a TV are now antiquated. For example, folks say after Christmas. That window is now getting smaller. Folks say around the SuperBowl. That is now over. Even "back to school" is too late.

It's April - June for the old tech, and Oct - early Nov for the new.

I got a S90C for now, but what sucks is I have good meters for calibrating tvs, but not good enough for an accurate one for qd oled. So to really get it right I have to pay someone $525. sigh. RTrying to be sure I keep it.

What's weir, though, is so far I still prefer my original samsung oled from 2015 called the S9C because the colors on that one look sooooo soothing. But I did calibrate that one myself, so I am comparing a calibrated tv with a noncalibrated.

I also think it's VERY annoying that the S90C doesn't have dolby vision or dts, though. Ridiculous and pathetic of them. I wonder if the tvs are capable of it if samsung ever decides to stop being cheapskates and pays the licensing.

edit: as far as processing, I tried a sony a90k and it definitely seemed more amazing to me on sub-4k content. Probably the lg would also. But some calibrator told me they're still close enough to not notice the difference if calibrated.
In the end both TVs have their merits and no one choice is better than the other. Depends on the use case and preference.

I'd enjoy the s90C if I were you. it does color brightness really well and covers the palette well.

G3 buyers can enjoy aspects of their panels.

They both are close. If one prefers G3 then this is a good deal. I think it is a shade more than the ebay deal a month ago so it seems to be the price for the season.

G2 panels were hard to come by and dipped it price much later in their cycle iirc.

Personally I wanted to get a Samsung but couldnt get myself to for my use cases.

Samsung screwed me over with their software update that killed my audio arc functions on an perfectly great 8 series QLED, not to mention their great auto on added bonus (bogus) feature that drives me nuts.. To me this 77 G3 seems like a spiteful answer to myself and bringing back my movie mancave. the cost is steep.. to much for a bloody TV. so here's to everyone that enjoys the picture and the chaos of choosing from the all the options.

Does BUYdig send you a GC or just take the money off the price? Last time I bought one from them they just subtracted the GC value from the price.

My budget js right around what the 65" is priced at here. I was wondering if i should go with this G3 in 65 or go to the C3 on 77? I currently have a 65 in the space, and a 77 will fit, but isnt necessary. Is the G3 a significant jump over the C3 where the picture quality trumps the size?
