There are cheaper options for long tern occasional use. For instance you would only need 5,400 RPM if you are not accessing it all the time

There is a reddit group called "Datahoarders." they are very helpful with questions like this.

There is no chance of getting to know. It comes with a two year warranty though.

18TB drives were introduced to market roughly 3 years ago.

Personal I wud avoid buying refurb drives on Amazon or eBay, but I've had positive experiences with spd.
