I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

Just FYI, I got my ATT phone, I checked actually before I put in sim card, it is flex 4000 lock policy. Also it seems it's very old stock, the ios is still on 15.1.1, not sure if this is attractive to somebody
did you try the sim swap method and got approval for the unlock right away?

is this not considered as fraud...from att side...just asking...and this trick is for verizon phone..right?

dont you think that we should try this before we cancel the verizon account so that even if something goes wrong then at least verizon 60 days thing is there to unlock it/
Not fraud. Contract said $299. You paid tax on the $299. No one said not to pay your 0% interest loan off to Verizon. Contract says it can be paid off at any time.

It doesn't work when try to cancel on the second day. Talk to 3 verizon customer service. One of them send me the link to paid off the phone but it pop up a message " I have to wait until 12/7/2023 to be able to paid off the phone. I start my service on 11/7/2023. That means they want me to wait for 1 months then let me paid off the phone. Just want to share some information to all of you.

I gave up. I went to a reseller Verizon store, the pay off option was grayed out and there wasn't anyway around it. He said he couldn't figure out why it was grayed out, he's never seen that before. He said we should have absolutely no issues paying off the phone either on day 1 or on day 3. He referred me to the corporate store. So I drove over there, the lady was kind of snippy with me, said I cannot pay off any phone right away. You have to wait 14 days (or a month, I can't remember which). She was not budging. (I signed up for a new line with my current account)
I currently have 3 phones on my plan, 2 of the 3 are paid off/not-financed. One of the paid off phones are my mom's, who has an old Galaxy. She told me to just put the SIM card from the galaxy into the new phone, keep that line open, and it will only be $10/month for the plan. If I add another line (like my dad's), then it would still only be $10/month (or something like that).
When I tried to cancel through 611, it sent me a link to pay off the phone, and they said I couldn't pay it off until after the 14 day waiting period. There is no way around the waiting period. You cannot pay off a phone within the 14 days. *eye roll*

Called CS and agent said she could cancel my line today but the phone would not be disconnected from the account until the billing period in December. I told her I am cancelling on the second day to avoid activation charge and monthly charge. She said that those will be charged then credited back, so that I will only pay for one day of service. It was quite confusing. I asked her to explain but she kept saying the same thing, that phone would be disconnected from our account (have family on Verizon) when the next bill came. She said she could not tell me how much the final cost would be, that would come when the bill is generated. I asked her to send me an email with that information stated, and she said she could not.
I did see that the Verizon symbol is now gone from the iPhone, but I am leery of what will come on the bill.
We had a big problem with Verizon when we bought a one month overseas package. It was supposed to be $100 for the month. When we came back and got the bill, it was over $600. We fought it, but ended up paying it.

Since today it's Saturday and CS is out of service now. I just use this way to cancel my line at ATT

1. write down my account number. Call *7678 from my ATT number to get the transfer pin.
2. Use my just unlocked iPhone 13 esim to activate a free trial at US Mobile to transfer that number. https://www.usmobile.com/get-started
3. After submitted transfer request, check ATT phone message, it asked me reply some number to confirm the transfer. After that, resubmit my transfer request again and then it went through.

Wal-Mart was supposed to deliver my ATT iPhone 13 today and it got delayed to Monday. Will this take away my ability to cancel before the three 3 day activation period?

I can finally rest easy, phones paid off, lines cancelled, unlocked via AT&T sim trick.
Now that I know all the tricks thanks to the amazing people in this forum it doesn't seem so bad but man that was nerve-wracking lol

Also I did line cancellation on chat they all confirmed that final bill amount would be $12 so no activation fee just the pro-rated few days, taxes fees etc

Yes, almost "right away". Also just port out number to US mobile free trial so I can cancel it right away without talking with CS.

Seems like chat is easier. Just tell them to disconnect effective immediately so that the activation fee gets refunded based on 3 day rule, and then before they disconnect confirm the final bill due amount. Should be $12 roughly..

For pay off device use the chat bot after hours as described in other posts. Tell it to "pay off device" and it will let you.
