I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

Called CS and agent said she could cancel my line today but the phone would not be disconnected from the account until the billing period in December. I told her I am cancelling on the second day to avoid activation charge and monthly charge. She said that those will be charged then credited back, so that I will only pay for one day of service. It was quite confusing. I asked her to explain but she kept saying the same thing, that phone would be disconnected from our account (have family on Verizon) when the next bill came. She said she could not tell me how much the final cost would be, that would come when the bill is generated. I asked her to send me an email with that information stated, and she said she could not.
I did see that the Verizon symbol is now gone from the iPhone, but I am leery of what will come on the bill.
We had a big problem with Verizon when we bought a one month overseas package. It was supposed to be $100 for the month. When we came back and got the bill, it was over $600. We fought it, but ended up paying it.
Need to be somewhat firm and persistent, but if he/she won't allow you to cancel today and avoid activation and get prorated service for 3-days.., I'd politely say you want to speak to his/her supervisor. They can tell you any story they want, about policy, about T's&C's, about new rules, about how you paid off the device. Listen, let them finish, then say I'd like to speak to your supervisor about this.

Should I call back CS and ask again? The phone is still listed on our account. Looked at account on line now and it said Pending Account changes. "A request to disconnect lines on your account has been scheduled for December 3". DEC 3! I told her today! What should I do now?

My phone I received my phone today and got it unlocked with the AT&T sim trick. The Apple coverage says it is expired. I called Apple support and they claimed there was nothing they could do about it, that it had originally been activated 300+ days ago and to call Walmart about it. Did anyone else receive their phone with an expired warranty?

Wow, that's really strange. My 2 phones were 100% new and sealed. How do you quickly check Apple warranty coverage?

Normally you can send a copy of your receipt to Apple, I think I've done that in the past:

I did not write down my new number and it seemed that I could not log in to verizon now with the email address and the contact phone number I entered. Anyone has this issue and found a way to log in? I placed my order at 11:59 on Nov 9th and I just received an email around 8pm today (Nov 11) saying it's shipped. The expected delivery time is Nov 15 and I am worried that I would be charged for the activation fee...

Yes. The VZW version I purchased indicates that. I expect we can eventually get this resolved. We have the purchase receipt from Walmart and the FedEx delivery info. Not something I wanted to tackle today after playing the game of paying off the DPP and cancelling the line.

I was not a verizon customer so I signed up a new account and got a new number with verizon through walmart checkout page. But I did not write the new phone number down and now I cannot log in before the device is delivered.
Timeline:
Nov 9 11:59 pm: Phone ordered
Nov 11 ~8 pm: Received email from walmart saying it is shipped but on lasership it shows "We're awaiting receipt of your package from the seller. Please continue to check your tracking for real time updates - 4:39 am"
Expected delivery date is Nov 15. I am worried that it would be outside the activation fee waiver window. Anyone in the same situation knows how to access the new phone number? Can Verizon access your new account with SSN?

Just for clarification, after I pay off the phone, deactivate, and wait for the unlock period I can then just put my current SIM card from Mint Mobile (T-Mobile) in and use the phone as intended?

Personally I would, but realize you might be on the phone for ~15-minutes. I'd immediately request to speak with a supervisor as soon as the CS rep comes on.

Tell them you cancelled in 3-days and would like an activation fee credit. Tell them you only had service for 3-days and would like pro-rated service for 3-days.

Again, listen politely when they tell you about Policy, Terms and Conditions, Rules for cancellation after you pay-off your device.... blah, blah, blah.

Then, politely say I would like an activation fee credit because I"m cancelling in less than 3-days.

Then, politely say I would like to only pay for the service I had. Can you please pro-rate my service for 3-days. (should be less than $20 with taxes).

Don't hang up until they agree... tell them how long you've been a customer (if you have).

Ask to speak their supervisor if they say no.

Good luck!
