I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

Do you know if the three days start from the day you turn on the phone or is it from shipping?
Verizon, it starts from shipping. Not sure about AT&T

It starts after it is shipped. You can confirm the activation date from the documentation in your account.

Yes. This is what I did:
1. Set up a new Verizon account with the phone number.
2. Att trick to unlock the device. Took about 5 mins.
3. Pay off the device via BOT.
4. Cancel the service via chat.
Did you cancel service on day 2 or day 3? What's the amount of the bill?

Yes, that is correct. I had this mistake before. I had the phone unwrap to be given as gift and it didn't get unlocked.

3 days from the order date.

Is this the right place to find my activation date?

Bill>Documents & receipts>Customer Agreement (View PDF)

It opens up document called Service Summary and then scroll down to see Effective Date. Mine says 11/11/2023
After download it should be named Activation-DATE.pdf. Just download all the documents.

For anyone having a problem paying off the phone balance using the bot, make sure you have your credit card entered as a payment method AND have setup autopay. I was waiting for about a day as I didn't have auto pay setup, once I did this I was able to pay off about an hour later. Called in today - day 2 - and got through to tech support? Apparently on off hours they answer. The dude was super nice and killed the account right there for me, no extra changes at all. Phone service (5g/LTE) died about 5 mins after the call. Great! Thanks OP.

There's over 100 pages now:. Going to try to provide some tips on how to do it via Verizon. I've completed this process on one phone today and started the process on a second phone. Unfortunately I didn't see the info on the new ATT SIM cards working so I have a 60 day lock for the first one.

1) You have to note the phone number, email, billing zip code, and PIN provided at checkout at Walmart. If you don't, I don't know you can change/access that info ahead of the phone arriving.
2) Your phone won't be activated till it ships. That's when the 3 day activation refund timer starts. If your phone is going to arrive late, chances are you'll have to pay the $35 activation fee?
3) Set up a new Verizon account at Verizon.com, you can do this before the phone arrives. It'll ask to link your phone number number, and then your billing zip code and PIN. Then it'll send you an email to the *original* email registered during the Walmart checkout process to confirm. Note: if you try to register your phone without creating an account first, it won't work because it'll keep wanting to send a confirmation code to your new cell phone number.
4) Once you have created the account, go to Billing -> Documents & Settings, download everything and you'll see your activation date.
5) Go to billing and find the option for autopay. Add a credit card number.
6) Payoff the device using the previously posted instructions:

I did this with two phones successfully. However, for some reason, the first time I called the bot did not do the right thing BOTH TIMES for each phone. I had to hang up and call back again, and say "PAY OFF DEVICE", and then it'll use the autopay CC to pay it off.

9. You can verify that the device is paid off by trying to pay off the device at Verizon. Account -> My Devices -> Pay off Device
10. Wait for phone to arrive. First phone I connected to Verizon, then made a few phone calls. Going to try the ATT trick with the 2nd one.
11. Call 611 from new cell phone. to cancel line. I asked them to waive my activation fee and they said that will be self adjusted later. They couldn't figure out how to do a manual waive. Anyway, gave up and said sure. After a few moments, I checked my account and I only owe $13.xx so it looks the activation should be auto waived if it's within 3 days.

Hope this helps someone, good luck!

Quick update: ATT unlock with H20 card from Target worked. Just cancelled service via Verizon chat on 2nd phone.

Everyone using the att sim trick to unlock the Verizon need to check the phone coverage date! The phone I got showed expired so I reached to Apple to update the purchase date but they refused the coverage because the agreement I got from Verizon doesn't show the serial number or IMEI. Neither Walmart invoice. So I got a new phone without 1 year warranty

So yesterday, I paid off the phone with Verizon. Today, I was told the device was "disconnected" when I asked to cancel my service through Chat. I was not sent any kind of confirmation but the device no longer makes calls or text. Did I successfully cancel my plan? Do I just wait 60 days for unlock now?

Are you still able to login to your verizon account or is it disabled now that you've canceled service?

You're right, after you cancel your service, wait for 60 days device unlock.

I received my VZ iPhone 13 today. I did the ATT sim trick using H20 sim card, following the wiki instructions. My issue now is that I still don't have my VZ phone number from the order or order number, as I never wrote them down. 🙄 When I call VZ or go to the corporate store for payoff, how can they find the phone on my account? Do I have to bring the phone w/ me to the corporate store for payoff, or just give them my SS# or email address?
