Take a look at the website - rtings.com. They do a ton of TV testing and break everything down in easier to understand teams and have a bunch of tools to help narrow the search. I don't think this Hisense is any good.

Understand that I'm an old guy & know next to nothing about the fancy TV sets these days. I grew up in the '50s when all TVs were plagued with horizontal & vertical roll, with adjustment knobs accordingly, and the largest I recall was 21" and seemingly weighed a ton. This appears to be a real SD. Repped.

I bought a 65 inch from Walmart a few months ago. Delivered perfectly fine. The package was well secured in styrofoam from the manufacturer. Ymmv

Great deal. Just remember to add 5 year warranty. Never know
I don't know. how much is it? 1/4 of the price of the TV? $100?

Usually if anything goes wrong with these it is within the warranty period. No moving parts, if things go wrong its because of physical damage or it was put above a fireplace and those usually are not covered by the extended warranty (former Circuit city person who hated selling warrants to people.).

This model is 6.9 on rtings. Is rather wait and see what happens with the U7 and U8, which both are arrived 8.5.
This review was from 2020. I wonder if there have been any improvements to the 2023 model?

Those 2023 models I mentioned have around 8.5 overall scores. They're considered the best budget models in the mid range class.

This looks like the same one (this one may be updated, I don't know) they had on sale last year for about $85 more, and it also debuted November 7th or 8th. I have one, it is on right now in the other room, and it is awesome. Meets MY needs, may not meet yours because it doesn't have bells and whistles. It has an Earc HDMI, which for some reason Walmart doesn't mention. I'll probably pick up (another) one for the bedroom.

Ive been seeing similar issues across the internet, just returning and grabbing another brand. What rtings.com says and their forums are right on.

Well sheeooot. My Vizio E70 70" 1080p purchased in June 2015 has lost its backlighting on the bottom right quadrant. At that time, I paid $1,300+tax for it, and got a reasonable (?) 8 years out of it.

What I REALLY want to replace it with is an OLED set, but with the best OLED price right now looking like approximately $1400 plus tax for just a 65" screen, this Hisense 75" is just checking so many boxes, especially the ridiculous $400 price tag. I already have Walmart+ so this is likely the TV for me. I'll def spring for an extended warranty.

Worst case scenario: I get this first, and then I can keep my eyes peeled for some crazy "can't pass up" OLED option.

Just wait until you're on the other side, pal. There's been an insane acceleration in technical advancements over the past few decades, and just when you think it's slowing down... BANG! ...suddenly AI showed up. More drastic changes will come when they get quantum computing to be truly usable by the mainstream world. Trust me - by that age your head will be spinning, too.

Humans aren't evolved enough to deal with such a crazy amount of change - why do you think conservatives are constantly trying to drag us back to the stone age? I can't entirely blame them, but trying to get back to that is like trying to put the cork back on the champagne bottle - pretty pointless. Better to just accept reality, and try to find a way to deal with the mess.
I'm 36 years old. I grew up on the bleeding edge of technology due to my father's career (which contrary to popular belief, means I always had the shittiest technology. Like 0.5 megapixel digital cameras that use floppy disks. Or having the HTC p4350 a year before the iPhone became the "first" smartphone... Early adopter problems lol.)

I work in AI technologies currently. I stay pretty up-to-date on burgeoning tech whether I want to or not. I, like many people my age, am probably more well versed in digital technology than younger generations who were born post-internet. Just by virtue of being the right age in the right place and time to witness the boom and follow the developments.

Even still, I see it happening already. Hell, industry leading experts that I have the privilege of working with often don't understand the very technology they're "developing" anymore. The AI spiral is already in full swing and we've lost control. I can't keep up with what's *really* happening and honestly I'm not sure anyone can. We aren't developing technology anymore, as much as we are watching technology develop itself and trying to figure out how to harness it for utility and capital gain. The whole industry is really revolving around learning and studying the machines now more than anything else. Becoming an expert in the field really relies on just being able to anticipate and react to the self-directed actions of computers.

Kinda scary sometimes. But I probably just think too much.

U6H is just too close to UGH.

I think Hisense is trying to signal us.
