Nice deal, but I'm waiting for a deal on the regular Ultra. This LT is the cheaper version that lacks Dolby support.

Same processor and same ram in Ultra and Ultra LT. Less features and downgraded remote for sure.

but for anyone concerned if it is discontinued or unsupported, it's still a "current" model:

"Roku is currently manufacturing these products and they are fully supported."

Roku Ultra LT appears to be Walmart specific - this may not include the pro version of the remote that includes the remote finder feature.

You should have at least one HDMI out. I have a Yamaha TSR-5810 from 2019 and it has the HDMI plug with the ARC standard.

Yea mines alot older than that, but still sounds amazing.

I have been a Roku user for years...and I have multiple of this model.
Overall, I like Roku, but a little of the shine has faded.

About 2-3 times a month, I need to do a hard reboot. (Unplug it and wait 30 sec...to plug it back in)
The units can just lock up and this seems to be the only way to clear the issue.

Plex can be buggy when playing my personal media on these new units. It is not just newer files, but also files that played fine on earlier Rokus.
There is a workaround...but to need it is a PIA.

This is not a connection issue. This is not a single-unit issue. They all do it. With Plex, this is not a resource limit issue. Plex does have a few Gremlins of it's own, but they are worse on later Rokus than anything else, in my experience.

Somebody asked about The Onn 4k players. They are awesome little players. But they tend to be a little busy on the display.

If you prefer a simple layout....and I do... Rokus may be worth turning a blind eye to some of the issues. Having said the negatives, I still use my Rokus frequently.
Just know the negatives going in.
This is not my experience. I have a Roku 2, the original Roku Ultra and a Hisense Roku 4K TV. The Ultra occasionally requires a reboot, but I rarely have to unplug it. I use them every day.

I'm not up to date all on Roku boxes and all the different versions you can get. But is this something that a person who lives in different hotels a lot for work can use easily to watch their shows abroad? Do you hotspot to your phone or something?
Roku Stick is best for this. Stick it in the hdmi slot of the hotel tv and the usb of the tv or a charger and then connect to hotel wifi or hotspot. Done.

Roku uses Roku OS you can't put anything on it that's not from their store. If you want a cheaper android box get a Amazon Fire tv
OK ty, yes I'm in the hunt for an android box and wanted to see if there was a decent box like an nvidia shield on sale

I'm looking for a Roku because I HATE my Apple TV. It locks up often and the remote sucks. I hate the touch sensitive circle control.
You can turn off the touch sensitivity of the remote.

My yamaha receiver only has optical so thats why it doesn't work. Roku doesn't have receiver codes you can add like the fire tv does.
If you don't have ARC HDMI it won't work.

I would look into getting the roku 4k streaming stick for traveling. It plugs directly into the hdmi port on the TV. I take mine whenever I travel and connect to the hotel's wifi. Hotspot from my phone is also an option if wifi isn't free.

That's why I climb into my Time Machine and always get last year's pricing.

If you want to control your receiver volume you should try enabling CEC which worked with my receiver. There is also a hidden remote menu that you can google. I used it on my kitchen tv setup to configure the remote to directly control my Visio soundbar power and volume.

There's a lot of garbage Google advertising on them but you can put a different launcher on there and get rid of all of that.
