My experience with Norton over the years has dramatically worsened, it's now pop-up-fest and ad-town despite clicking everything there had to be clicked and toggled to make these pop-ups and ads disappear.
I had to stop using Norton. They spam you constantly trying to upsell other products. It's basically add ware now.

Can these be used to add a year to my current Norton Subscription? Do I have to re-download the Norton software, or will there be a product key/activation code that I can just enter into my existing Norton account? Thanks.

From what I read, only way is call customer service and have someone there manually stack it.
This deal comes often, if you have a lot of time left, no need to get.

You SHOULD just be able to log into your Norton account, and update the info with the new product key. If your software needs to be updated, it will prompt you to do so, at that time.
Last year, I had to update my software. Doubt I'll have to this year, as I already have a code ready to go on Newegg, from a couple years ago, that I'll use in 6 days, when my current subscription expires. I went ahead and bought a 5-device version from this deal, and will use that next year.
The biggest thing to remember, is to CANCEL the auto-renewal. Otherwise, you'll end up paying full price, when it comes time to renew. I noticed, this year, that once I got withing ~10 days of my protection running out, that Norton offered renewal for $19.99

last year, I just let my old subscription expire and then added this as a new subscription. the norton web dashboard updated all my computers with the new subscription.
1. log into dashboard
2. add subscription
3. I think I did have to log into norton on 1 or 2 computers, to re-activate them
it was really easy and took me less than 10-minutes.
I recently got my Internet shutdown for downloading games. Not sure if it was bc i forgot to turn on my VPN or if because free VPNS are just bad. Should get a paid VPN ? I haven't downloaded any games since

As a professional security person with over 22 years of experience, I can tell you that Norton is not good. The built-in Microsoft Defender is better and it's free.
If you just have to buy something, you can look at Trellix (former McAfee) or see if Defender offers a higher level protection for a cost (recommended).

Definitely no FOMO on this frequent deal.
