Main thing is most people need a smaller freezer than fridge section, and the door mechanism is cheaper than drawers. So cheap models go with doors, and in that case, the smaller door is much easier to use on top than swinging on the bottom.

Got mine a couple months ago for the same price - wasn't damaged in transit as many have commented about - and it's been working great. IMO, an excellent small apartment fridge or second fridge if you have multiple roommates

Got mine a couple months ago for the same price - wasn't damaged in transit as many have commented about - and it's been working great. IMO, an excellent small apartment fridge or second fridge if you have multiple roommates

I have been looking for something like this except exclusively an ice maker. There are about 500 different brands available on sites like Home Depot and they all have shit reviews… anyone have any experience or insight? Much appreciated, SD aficionados!

Works well and I make ice with it daily.

Got mine a few months ago when it was 200 bucks. Works like a champ. The doors can be flipped to open from either side. Good buy! Free delivery!

Is there a reason fridges with the freezer on top are always the super cheap ones? I just hate having the freezer on top.

Main thing is most people need a smaller freezer than fridge section, and the door mechanism is cheaper than drawers. So cheap models go with doors, and in that case, the smaller door is much easier to use on top than swinging on the bottom.

Got a very similar one of the these at Sam's for my grandmother for the same price. It's decent quality, but much smaller than you'd expect when you start packing things into it. She's 87 and lives alone (and eats mostly crackers), yet she still found in too small and we ended up replacing it with a full-sized fridge.

Huh good point. I have a freezer-on-bottom fridge that has just a door. But it was definitely the cheapest option with that layout.

Bought this last time it was on sale. Works ok, it either gets too cold or not cold enough when adjusting.

Avoid Frigidaire at all cost, worst customer service, they hire the worst of the worst of technicians to repair your stuff, and waste you multiple days to stay at home waiting for something to be fixed and still fail to repair, and also refused to replace it because it hasn't reached 'repair limit'.

Minor dents and FedEx didn't drop it off im the specific area I requested. So I had to trolly cart it from the curbside
Walmart customer service did give $30 refund for the dents which was about the price I paid for the 3 yr warranty. Back wall in fridge .compartment does get frozen water droplets. The cridping bin is cheap plastic and kinda useless space since the bin doesnt shut completely closed. Would've preferred an extra shelf area
