Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

$84 out the door in New Castle, DE, home of tax-free shopping. Wilmington location had no phones and the OSL team mistakenly thought the deal starts next week. Still a couple in stock.
Are most people going to Walmart getting a Straight talk card that could be resold or they having to set up a new account in store. Thanks in advance.Smilie

If you got one from Wal-Mart in-store, most likely you can only re-sell it as open box condition. The box is opened, the sim card is inserted and activated.

When I got to WM they tried saying it doesn't start til Black Friday. I was like hell naw and asked for a manager, she checked and it rang up $49 so I sat there feeling like a Karen while she finished everything. Took about 15 mins for 2 phones. She had to do it separate for some reason and used a random email bc it didn't accept it the second time. $101 something each. Only had black.

My boxes were not open. The SIM card was attached to the bottom of the sealed box.
Edit1: In like a little envelope. Opened them when I got home. They're transferring from my old phones atm so idk if they're even activated yet.
Edit2: Actually it says no sim at the top so they're not activated

Why did you buy it at 149? That's not even on sale.

Oh you're doing it online. Need to do it in store.

Just arrived to Walmart and they have 5 left. Walmart associate did the transaction and he was amazed didn't know about this sale. Price was $49.00 no port in number required at least in my case and got the $35.00 plan. I have to activate it when I get home.

If I want to get on this deal and don't have any need for the phone/service what is the best plan with the phones? Also can we get these phones activated without them opening the phone and inserting SIM?

I believe you will have to insert the sim to activate it to get the clock started to get it unlocked. Mine were not opened but they are also not activated.

Why $101? Did you buy the $45 service plan?
