Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

You activate the sim on Tracfone first without paying anything. Then you do refill???
I am not sure yet. I guess just insert the sim card comes with the phone and activate from the phone. At that moment the phone is activated under straight talk but I think I can refill it with Tracfone monthly plan, which is cheaper.

Looks like offer different color cases for $1.25

Yeah, they often have a decent assortment of cases, depending on the store. However, most of them are hard plastic. The clear ones are a nice soft, flexible silicone which is fairly grippy but still slides in and out of the pocket easily. They might have those in colors also, but I've only ever seen the clear ones around me.

Not how it works. If you didn't buy a ST plan then just insert included sim & activate on TF website as a TF & follow instructions.
You can buy the plan when you activate phone on TF site. (Phone will not be activated till you buy a plan).

Yep. The Samsung will need to get a code from TF to unlock, Apple does iPhones automatically, usually first thing in morning.
Carrying the Samsung A53 international as well as a gift lol so won't be able to get a text, but someone mentioned in that thread it can be done online at tfwunlockpolicy.com

The vast majority of the workers simply have no clue about the deal or how to ring the discount without some kind of override. Neither the electronics employee nor the CSM at the store I went to any idea about the deal and the discount didn't automatically apply even when both phone and card were rang up, which isn't typical for deals like this. They were both reading over all the details of the deal and tried to make sure everything was right, but it still didn't ring up the discount. It only seems to ring up correctly after being activated through their proprietary system, which is usually only done by the ST vendor guys and only at certain stores. Luckily, the CSM at my store was anxious to help and went through with the price override, but I'm sure many are probably hesitant to do an override for such a big price difference. It seems like there is similar confusion at a lot of the stores out there.
Oh, the store you went to weren't able to give you the discount? I think the system should've discounted it automatically with an eligible plan.

One more question, when you activate the ST phone on TF site, there are 2 options, new phone (purchased from TF) or Keep Your Own Phone (Unlocked phones you're bringing to Tracfone). I think should choose the "new phone purchased from TF", right? Thanks again.

Exactly, the included sim actually shows "TF" & works with Tracfone brands (ST, TF, Total by Verizon).

They gave me the discount, but it would not ring up automatically. The CSM directed the employee to do a price override on it instead of the discount ringing up the way it should. However, they did not do the in-store activation, but rather just rang up the phones and plan cards. Others have reported that the discount rings up automatically when they go through that activation process first, but the guys who usually do that are outside ST vendors who work in the store. They aren't at all stores and the regular Walmart employees don't usually seem to know that side of things.

Need HELP made the purchase in store paid 49+35 on the Walmart WARP system and the system showed Activated. But the phone is still showing SOS. Should they give a $35 voucher or is it built into the Phone's Kit
Same issue. CS mentioned WM did not add the air time, so its not showing up anything. Suggested to go back to store to get the air time added. Please let me know if there is an easier way

Gotta use a vpn. Much higher chance if you add a plan.
