Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

I did get the sim cards those were attached to the back of the phone in a pouch. But when I got online to activate it asks for a card pin or plan pin which is found in the back or bottom of the refill card according to the online process
Did the rep take your email and name? There is nothing to activate online. Pop that SIM card (make sure not to mix them up) in your phone. wait a couple of minutes and you will see a signal. You can make a test call to verify if you want.

You can login to your Straight Talk account online using the SIM #,the phone number or the email if you want to verify that the plan has been activated.

So, what's my best bet now? One sim is activated, but the other sim is having trouble. WM missed adding the airtime. So I should try adding airtime with WM and see if swapping to the right combo does the trick. If not, need any info you can provide
Can't give reliable suggestion since I've always activated original sim (& lots of them). Hopefully you haven't screwed up the unlock, dealing with support can be a headache.

I'll have to go back to the store I'm certain I don't get any refill cards, I checked the bags I out them in at the store, car, everything. I don't even recall her showing me the $35 refill cards, since this is my first time doing this I didn't even think about needed to have those refill cards but I was definitely charged for them

She may have realized her mistake and will have them waiting for you when you go back

But it's giving the unlock date as 60 days from now(on texting UNLOCK)
Yeah, SIM swapping is risky and somewhat unpredictable as Oregon mentioned. But I'm trying to figure out what SIMs you used. You didn't use the ones that came with the phones in the little gray envelopes? Did you use SIMs that you already had from other phones or something?

Have to go through checkout to see the discount. Add the $45 card and it subtracts $100. Total should be about $95.

Sounds like it. No matter how many times we say use original sim someone tries swapping & then gets upset when phone won't unlock.

I got two new phones and by mistake, I swapped the sims at the time of activation. Inserted the original sim to the phone it came along, didn't work(WM has not added the airtime and messed it up), so tried the second sim in first phone and it activated. So my first phone is pointing to second sim on ST application.

Have you tried logging into ST? They may have set up your account in the system where you can look for more details. Try logging in at the ST website. But put "forgot password" and if your account is associated with your email, it should send you a link to set your password. Then you could look to see if it shows any active lines.

Oh, OK … so it sounds like you should be good with getting an Auto Unlock for one of them anyway. I thought you swapped SIMs from old phones or something. It might not be a problem since they're both new phones and new activations, although it's a bit of an unknown. If they don't unlock automatically, you should still probably get it going with a phone call. A SIM mixup between two new phones is a bit different than using old SIMs from previous plans.

Was just able to order from ST website if anyone wants one.
Total was $95.97 since it requires higher priced plan but that includes month of Walmart +.
